<<<Dave Callan>>>
Dave Callan has been performing in comedy rooms around Australia since 1994. In '96 his stand up earned him a place in the first JJJ Raw comedy competition as WA's finalist. After a tour of Britain and Ireland in late '98 Dave relocated to Melbourne to begin work on late night comedy show, Rove. In '99 Dave appeared in the ABC's 'Standing Up' and 'O' Loughlin'. Dave was also writer/performer for the first ten episode series of Rove. Enjoying his return to stand up in 2000, he has been performing like some sort of mad comedy werewolf on heat. Seasons have included a four-week stint at the Last Laugh as MC for 'Cream of the Irish'. Critics hailed him 'slightly Irish' and 'extremely creamy'. In April, Dave made his theatrical debut in the one hander 'Shithouse' as part of the Melbourne International comedy festival. He was a writer/performer in the 2000 series of Rove[live] on Channel 10, but did not return to the show in 2001, preferring to focus more on stand up.
