Alan Davies is an English comedian who was born in Essex. Alan became a comedian thanks to the Enterprise Allowance Scheme which was funded by the government! In Australia he is best known for his role in Jonathon Creek, where he played the main character.
Among Alan's latest projects are the Abbey National Adverts and A Many Splintered Thing as well as a documentary series on stand-up comedians.
In 1994 Alan was nominated for the Perrier Award, and in 1995 he won the Edinburgh Festival's Critical Award for his stand up routine. He was also nominted for the Best Stand Up Comedian award at the British Comedy Awards.
He has appeared in many television shows in the UK including Jonathan Creek, A Many Splintered Thing, One for the Road, Have I got News for You, Room 101 and Top of the Pops
Alan has toured the UK as well as Australia, New Zealand, America and Canada with his one man show.
