>>>Race Around the World<<<
Race Around the World was a program on the ABC, where 8 racers complete a 100 day journey around the world. Each Racer produced a series of 10 documentaries, based on their experiences and encounters and their view of the world.
These documentaries were judged by a panel of 3 judges, and each given a mark out of 20. The person with the most number of points was the winner, getting into a course with the Film and television School, and a camera among other things.
The show was hosted by Richard Fidler:
Richard has been the presenter of Race Around the World since its inception last year. While maintaining a clever facade of friendship and closeness, he is in fact committed to destroying the racers' careers so they don't present any threat to his long cherished dream of hosting the Logies some day.
A former member of the Doug Anthony Allstars, he left TV behind in 1994 to pursue a career in interactive media, before being dragged kicking and screaming back into the ABC building. Nonetheless he won an AIMIA best writer award for his work on 'Real Wild Child', a CD ROM history of Australian Rock and Roll.
Richard is also writer/presenter of 'Mouthing Off', a cheap and obscene issues-based debate show for the Comedy Channel on Foxtel.
