Chameleon
So many colors,
so many lives
I want it all,
in most I thrive
The mask’s on again
Really, no lie
This one’s a facet;
what color’s inside?
Couldn’t tell you,
wish I could
If I knew,
I really would
With you I’m green,
with her I’m white,
with him I’m dark,
with her I’m light
It’s not so bad,
they’re all there
They show, depending
who and where
It’s funny, though
they probably think
that’s all to me
Barely a blink
So many layers
I’ll tell you more
when I know
what’s in the core
Don’t hold your breath,
they grow as fast
as I peel away
never the last

back...
