| What's in a Name? |
| I did some research on Rei's Japanese and English name, and found out some interesting stuff about both of them. I even found some things out about Mars and it's symbol, which I will start on first. Mars is the Greek god of war, which is why the planet is named after him. They named it Mars because of it's reddish color, resembling blood. The symbol for Mars is a sheild and arrow together, and is also a male's sign. And Rei is a bit tomboyish, am I right? So Mars is the perfect planet for Rei. The Japanese name, Rei, means gratitude. The English name, Rai, means trust. Both names' origins are from Japan. The name Reiko is related to Rei, meaning child of Rei. It is also a feminine Japanese name, and means gratitude. Pretty neat stuff, huh? ^_^ *sweatdrop* I thought up the idea of this because of... betcha can't guess... my homework! *double sweatdrop* I had to find out why my parents named me, so I went online to find the meaning of my name, and ran across some of the character's names from Sailor Moon...
