The Rider and the Dragon | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The golden glow within the sky, Flying with their heads held high. The world beneath their feet, The heavens within their feet. Once again they take their flight, Flying, soaring all through the night. Turn your head to the sky As Man and Dragon fly right by. Children make a gasp As mothers hold them tight in a clasp. Women crying with their fear, Holding what they find most dear. Men laugh and shout As Dragons begin to pout. All stopped to ponder, And made them wonder. Why the Dragon and the Rider Weren't enemy fighters. Then they see the light, Helping all to take their flight. Will wonders never cease, When Man and Dragon make their peace. |

The Winged Creature of My Dreams I behold before my eyes The winged creature of my dreams. Glowing within the sky, Flying ever so high. Soaring and swooping, Diving and looping. It opened its jaws, Showing its glittering fangs, And blew the fire from its heart. The flames licking the sky, Glowing red and orange. I stared in awe as I craned my head To see this creature of my dreams Flying high above. And as I watched, It swooped down low, Showing its every feature, From its smoking nostrils To its pointed tail. Every shining scale came clearer, Every talon distinguished, And its eyes of fire looked straight at me, They shone so bright, Showing intelligence behind those eyes. It read my heart And saw my awe. Then it smiled, Showing those sharp, strong fangs. I smiled back, Feeling the warmth of its heart. And then it flew, On and on 'Till it turned into a speck. Never again will I see, Such a wonder as the Dragon I had met. |
