Duquesne
(1-1) |

Last Year - CSU won, 82-64 (Series tied, 1-1)
|
Probable Starters |
CSU
- G Jermaine Robinson (Jr., 6-1, Philadelphia, PA), G Walt Chavis
(So., 5-11, Steelton, PA), G Modibo Niakate (Fr., 6-1, Paris, France), F Andre Williams (Sr., 6-5, Clayton,
NJ), F Tahric Gosley (Sr., 6-8, Philadelphia, PA)<#EndEditable --> |
Duquesne
- G Kevin Forney (Sr., 6-4, Philadelphia, PA), G Jimmy Tricco (Jr., 6-8, Phoenix, AZ), F Elijah Palmer (Jr., 6-7, Marshall, MO), F Simplice Njoya (So., 6-10, Yaounde, Cameroon), C Ron Dokes (Jr.,
6-9, South Bend, IN) |
Guards |
Turnovers may not be the key, as Forney committed 7 turnovers in the Duke win against West Virginia. However, with Forney at 6-4 and Tricco at 6-8, the much-shorter Vikings may have a hard time guarding against the shot.
|
Advantage - Duquesne |
Forwards |
Palmer and Ngoya will, in all likelihood, make life miserable for Williams and Gosley, especially considering the way they wore down West Virginia with their aggressive inside play. |
Advantage - Duquesne |
Center |
Dokes has been the key in the middle of the Dukes lineup. Hopefully, the starting lineup with the Vikings will finally include The French Rejection, Pape Badiane. If not, Dokes is going to have a field day. |
Advantage - Duquesne |
Reserves |
The benches on either side appear to be much deeper than they actually are. Duquesne has only used an 8-man rotation so far, while the Vikings have seemed to only use seven, with the notable absences of John Rabb and Jack Higgins. |
Advantage - Even |
Coaches |
Rollie Massimino may have garnered his 500th win last season against the Dukes, but this certainly is not the same team. Duquense coach Danny Nee has finished rebuilding, and is now ready to roll. |
Advantage - Duquesne |
Final Score |
Duquesne 65, CSU 60 - The new and improved Dukes will outlast the Vikings this time around. |
