Magick is all about focus and mental stimulation, about using the power of the senses to enhance the working at hand. Just as certain sounds and smells aid us in our spellwork, so do the colours with which we fill our rituals. Successful magickal workings must involve strategic use of colour elements. We must be conscious of the hues of our candles, altar decorations and clothing. The impact of different colours varies from culture to culture and even from person to person. What follows are some commonly used colours and those workings with which they are generally associated.

	White represents the Goddess in her maiden aspect. It is the colour of truth, purity and clarity. It represents the triumph of light over darkness. If gossip is what you seek to eliminate, white is the perfect colour as it promotes sincerity and increases protection.
