At the Arcade, a famous hang out for those wandering
teens
who need a break from school, at around about 2:30 p.m. on a Tuesday
afternoon,
Tokiya Mikagami and Recca Hanabishi were talking about nothing in
particular.
Then the doors opened and a cheery former team member of
the Urubatousatsujin bounces in the door.
"Hi Recca!" Fuuko Kirisawa called cheerfully.
At the far end corner, Tokiya grumbles, "Now isn't that
polite
of her? Saying hello isn't too hard too do is it?"
"Hey Fuuko, how's it going?" Recca says.
"Everything is absolutely perfect, I'm so happy!" She
smiles.
"And why would that be Tommy Boy?" Tokiya inquired.
"Ooooh Tokiya would you stop calling me that! My name is
Fuuko, FUU-KO, F-U-U-K-O!" She retorted.
"Okay, I get the point, TO-MMY-BOY!" he replies back.
"Ooooh! As if I would tell you anything anyway, you're
such
a jerk wad!" Fuuko shot back. "If he doesn't leave me alone I'm gonna
bite
his head off!" Fuuko thought maliciously.
"Okay, you two, cut it out, you're acting like a bunch
of
two-year-olds!" Recca interfered.
"He started it!" Fuuko went on.
"Oh, that sounded so mature Tommy Boy." Tokiya cooed
tauntingly.
"Why can't you just drop the name and leave me alone!"
Fuuko
cried.
"Is that what she really wants me to do," Tokiya
thought,
"I hope not. . .hold on, wait a sec, where did that come from?"
"Anyways the reason why I'm so happy is because I'm
going
to a wedding this Saturday with a really great guy named Raiha." She
beamed.
"You mean some guy actually wants to go with YOU, how
ugly
is this guy? And I hope you don't mean the wedding between Neon and
Joker?"
"That's exactly the one I mean and why do you have to be
so mean to me anyway? I never did anything to you, I wish I had never
met
you!" Fuuko grumbled as she ran out the door of the arcade with
steam coming out of her ears.

~~~
"WHACK!!"
Was the sound that reverberated throughout the arcade as Recca's
hand
connected with the back of Tokiya's head.
"Ow, what the hell was that for!" Tokiya grumbled
massaging
his lump.
"For what you just did to Fuuko, anta no baka! You made
her
angry! She was happy in a relationship and you just had to go ruin it
didn't
you!"
"Geez, I'm sorry would you stop yelling!" Tokiya
retorted.
Recca looked at him angrily. "NO! You went too far this
time
buster, I'm not even sure
I want to be your friend anymore! I don't even think we were in really
good
terms from the start anyway!You're just a COMRAD!" Recca thundered.
Hurt, Tokiya glared at him. "Well fine then, I'll
leave!"
"Good!" Recca snapped angrily.
~~~

As soon as he was out of the arcade, he began walking
towards
the direction of where Fuuko ran off to. He might as well just
apologize
to her
"Recca's never gonna talk to me again," thought Tokiya.
'You're just a COMRAD'
Tokiya flinched. "That hurt" he thought angrily.
"Might as well face it, Mikagami! You started it anyway. And where
the
hell did you get the idea from the nickname 'Tommy Boy'?" his head
shouted
angrily at himself.
"Wait a sec, I don't even know where she lives." He
muttered
out loud. He then got a bright idea hit him and he walked to the
nearest
pay-phone he knew of.
Tokiya scanned the names of the various residents in
Tokyo.
"Aha! Here it is, Kirisawa, Fuuko. 17055 South Blossom
Drive
Avenue." He then set off for his destination.

~~~
Fuuko rushed out of the arcade as fast as she could.
Every
one Tokiya's words had cut into her like a thousand steel knives.
"Why do I care so much what he thinks about me anyway?" She thought
angrily.
"Because you like him!" Her heart replied.
It was true, Fuuko realized and sighed resignedly.
"Tough
chance of him ever liking me, he hates me." She breathed.
She then remembered thye horrible nickname. 'Tommy Boy'. Sure she
did
act like a guy most of the time but then, at least he try being polite
for
once!
Then the tears began again and she ran all the way home
never
once colliding into anybody.
~~~

When she got there she ran in and up the stairs into her
bedroom sniffling loudly. "Fuuko, are you okay?" She heard Sakoshita
Yanagi
ask through her bedroom door.
"No Yanagi, but I will be."
"Okay Fuuko, if you need something just call me." Yanagi
said worriedly.
"Oi, Yanagi-san. What's the matter with Fuu-chan?" Kaoru
Koganei asked coming out with a bowl of ice cream.
Yanagi smiled. "On my opinion, it's got something to do
with
Tokiya again. Don't you think that they're practiclally forminga--"
Kaoru interrupted her. "Pattern? Yeah. I noticed it
too."
Koaru looked at the closed bedroom door of Fuuko and
sighed
worriedly.

~~~
Tokiya had finally made it to Fuuko's house.
He knocked on the door firmly. "Just a minute!" He
heard
a female voice shout.
There was running and two arguing voices behind the
door.
He thought it sounded like Fuuko but then as soon as the
door opened, he thought wrong. But he wasn't wrong with the second
voice.
It was Kaoru and Fuuko's live-in, Sakoshita Yanagi.
"Oh hey Tokiya! What do you want?" Yanagi asked.
Kaoru eyed him skeptically. Though he knew Tokiya, he
still
called him the Fridge Master.
"Is Fuuko here? I need to talk to her." Tokiya blurted
impatiently.
"Got any reason why you want to see Fuu-chan,
Tokiya-san?"
Kaoru asked looking at him suspiciously.
"Probably gonna make her cry again." Kaoru thought
sardonically.
Yangi gave Kaoru a gentlye shove towards the kitchen.
As soon as she was back, she smiled mischievously.
"State
your name and reason, Tokiya."
Tokiya smiled. "My name's Tokiya."
Kaoru's voice came through. "REASON!"
Yanagi smiled sheepishly. "Hold on a minute. Come in and
sit down." Yanagi answered as she closed the door in Tokiya's face.
~~~

Yanagi knocked on Fuuko's door and heard a muffled yes
in
answer.
"There's some guy named Tokiya at the living room for
you.
Sounds familiar, Fuuko-chan?" Yanagi asked.
"Tell him I never want to see him I don't want to see
his
stupid ugly looking face again!" Fuuko stormed.
Yanagi was surprised. "She doesn't want to see Tokiya?"
she
thought.
"He's the guy that made you mad isn't he." Kaoru
commented
peeking from behind Yanagi.

~~~
Fuuko's answer was lost in thin air as Yanagi and Kaoru
ran
down the stairs, out the door, Kaoru hurtled himself at Tokiya and
Yanagi
gently ushered him outside.
"What's the big problem Yanagi chan?"
Yanagi smiled gently. "Fuuko wants to be alone for a--"
"You're the guy that made Fuuko mad, you don't even
deserve
to be able to see her." Kaoru shouted as he pummeled Tokiya's face with
his fists.
"Kaoru...STOP!!" Fuuko screeched as she saw Tokiya being
beaten to a bloody pulp by her friend and while Yanagi was trying her
best
to break up the fight.
Fuuko boldly forced Kaoru to stop beating Tokiya while
Yanagi
gave a silent prayer thanking HIM for a good friend and hero that Fuuko
is.
"Fuuko, I need to talk to you." Tokiya begged.
"Leave me alone Tokiya, you've already hurt me enough
for
one day, so just leave!" Fuuko demanded with renewed anger as she
slammed
the door to her house.
~~~

The next day when Tokiya trudged into the arcade a
shrill
whistle erupted from between Recca's and Domon Ishijima's lips.
"Hey Tokiya, where'd you get that shiner?" Domon was
referring
to Tokiya's viciously black eye.
"Kaoru. That guy...I underestimated. He's got strength."
Tokiya replied without enthusiasm.
"Why did he do that?" Domon persisted.
"Because he found out I made Fuuko angry." Tokiya
replied
touching his wound gently.
And the lump that Recca gave him in the head yesterday
wasn't
helping him out either.
Just then the doors to the arcade opened and a less than
happy dark haired drug herself in the door.
Her hair which were usually soaring behind her were
sticking
to her neck. Fuuko wearily seated herself in a booth and put her head
in
her arms.
While this was happening Tokiya was watching those
beautiful
tendrils of hair slump on the counter and it was like someone had taken
a hot branding iron and put it on his chest.
It hurt so much to see Fuuko sad.
"Wait. Why do I keep feeling this?" He asked himself
inside
his head.
"Because you care for her, anta no baka." screamed his
heart
and mind with equal force.
Tokiya then realized it was true, he had been so busy
teasing
Fuuko that he had totally overlooked the fact that he loved her.
"Like she would ever go for me, she's gotta hate me
after
yesterday." He thought miserably.
When Tokiya was thinking these thoughts, Domon, since he
wasn't here yesterday, was trying to find out what was wrong with
Fuuko.
"Hey Fuuko, what's wrong?"
"You wouldn't understand, Domon." Fuuko whispered
hoarsly.
"Well you could tell me and I'll try to." Domon
persisted.
Recca kept quiet, listening to the conversation. Still
not
talking to Tokiya.
"You remember that totally great guy I told you about,
oh
you weren't here. He's name is Raiha, and he's...and well it ended up
that
he's sick and he can't take me to the wedding so I have to go alone."
Fuuko
finished.
"Well, why don't you go with Tokiya?" Recca suddenly
spoke
up.
"Yeah, right. As if he would ever take me. Anyways, I
don't
want to talk about him, I'm going home." Fuuko stood up and left.
Domon and Recca went back to the counter by Tokiya.
"Hey Frankenstein, what was all that about?" Tokiya
asked.

At the far end, Reca grumbled. "The problem is Tokiya and his stupid
nicknames!"
"That was Fuuko telling him she doesn't want to talk
about
you." Recca retorted, suddenly talking to him once more.
"You really hurt her Tokiya, and now that guy, what's
his
name? Oh yeah, Raiha, she was going with is sick which makes it even
worse."
Tokiya's amusement died when he heard what Recca had
said.
"Do you really think she never wants to talk to me
again?"
Tokiya asked with worry on his face.
"Oh, she'll forgive you someday, just not anytime soon."
Recca answered. "But I doubt it." he murmured the last part.
"Oh man, I really blew it this time!"
"You're sprung over her aren't you?" Domon asked.
"Yeah, big time." Tokiya whispered in misery.

~~~
Saturday Afternoon.
It was a good thing Fuuko was so desperate for an escort
since she needed one. Good thing fro Tokiya since he happened to be
available
and free that night, he accepted to be the escort.
Courtesy of Yanagi and Kaoru, who were sick of watching
Fuuko
debating if she should go to the wedding or not, and by Recca and
Domon,
who were sick of watching Tokiya moping around looking dazed whenever
Fuuko
passed by.
Fuuko was finally ready to go for the wedding. She wore
hugging formal, midnight blue dress. It reached the ground and even
drug
a little. She had a small little clip of daisies on top of her hair.
She
had left it loose this time. She wanted Tokiya's jaw to drop when he
saw
her. She had to make him see that she wasn't a loser and deserved to be
loved, despite what he thought of her.
At that same moment Tokiya was also looking himself over
for the last time. He was wearing a black tux with a rose in the
buttonhole.
He had done his hair in the usual style, thinking he didn't need to
do anything really special to it. He wanted Fuuko to drool when she saw
him. He wanted to prove to her that he was worth forgiving. He needed
her
so badly he didn't know what he would do if she didn't forgive him. He
finally
noticed the time and was alarmed because he was going to be late. He
was
getting as bad as Fuuko.
~~~

At the wedding.
When Fuuko looked around the church to find Tokiya she
was
surprised she didn't see the pale-haired man.
She was usually the one that was late and him early. Not
the other way around. It was time for the guests to sit down so she
found
a spot where she would have a good view.
When the bridal march started she got really worried
because
Tokiya wasn't there yet. Then she saw a familiar form sneak into a side
door and sit a couple rows back from her.
Tokiya had raced over to the church in order to make it
before
the wedding started. When he was seated in one of the middle pews in
the
church he started looking for a certain familiar hairstyle. He was
alarmed
when he couldn't find it.
"Did she skip the wedding because of me?" He asked
himself.
He sincerely hoped not, he wanted to apologize to her
really
badly. Well, he would find out whether or not she came at the
reception.
Fuuko never turns down free food.

~~~
At the reception.
Fuuko again looked around for Tokiya at the reception.
When
she saw him drool immediately formed at the corners of her mouth as he
had
planned. He looked stunning in that black tuxedo. No wonder at one time
he had been a model. If only he would look at her, notice her. Then he
did.
She blushed as she looked away and pretended to be engrossed in looking
at the centerpiece of the table she was sitting at. He couldn't know
she
had been openly staring at him, not being able to move her eyes off
him.
Tokiya turned his head as he felt a tingling at the back
of his neck telling him someone was watching him. That's when he saw
her,
the most amazing, delicate creature on the face of the planet.
His jaw dropped just as she had planned. Fuuko was sitting there
staring
at the centerpiece on her table looking absolutely stunning. The blue
dress
she was wearing was hugging her curves, making his mouth water.
He decided to go over and talk to her.
"Hey Tommy Boy, how's it going?"
"Leave me alone Tokiya." Fuuko hissed.
"Why?"
"Because you're mean and annoying and I hate you!" Fuuko
growled
as her anger was renewed at the use of the horrible nickname.
"Aw, you're killing me Tommy Boy." Tokiya teased in an
annoying
tone even though what he said was really true.
With every cruel word that Fuuko was uttering his heart
was
breaking into a million pieces.
"Can't you get it right! My name is Fuuko! Just once I'd
like to hear you call me by my given name, but I guess that will never
happen
will it?"
With that Fuuko turned and stormed away.
In the middle of her storming Fuuko saw a sight that
made
all her previous hurts well up again. There danced Raiha with a clingy
blue-
haired climbing all over him.
"Raiha! I thought you were sick. You said you were sick
to
get out of going with me!" She looked at the both of them in terror.
"Sorry, but I'm a much better offer." The blue-haired
girl
said coldly.
When Fuuko heard this she turned to Raiha and saw him
look
down. Fuuko sniffed back her tears and started running blindly not
caring
where she went as long as she got away from Ms. Clingyty-cling and
Raiha.
Tokiya seeing this horrible spectacle took off after
Fuuko
as fast as his feet could carry him. When he finally found her she was
sitting
on a bench under a weeping willow tree.
"How fitting." He thought cynically.
Then he heard her horrible sobs and felt like pounding
Raiha
into the ground. He hardly saw her cry. It was always that cheerful
face
that usually covered up her feelings.
"Fuuko." He said as he gently touched her shoulder.
"Fuuko,
it's okay." She heard Tokiya say as she was engulfed in his strong
arms.
"T...Tokiya, why do you hate me so much? Why do men
hate
me so much? Am I really as ugly as everyone says I am? Is it
that...that
I'm a big tombioy as you said? Am I really just a big loser?" Fuuko's
voice
broke on the last word and Tokiya's heart shattered with it.
"Did she really think she was all that stuff?" He
wondered.
"She must or else she wouldn't have said it." He concluded.
"Fuuko, look at me." He ordered in a soft voice.
When she did he saw the dismal misery in her eyes and
his
heart hurt even more.
"What Tokiya?" Fuuko questioned.
"You are not a loser! You are not ugly either!" Tokiya
urged
with emphasis on every word.
"Really? You think so? But you always called me Tommy
Boy!"
She asked with renewed hope in her eyes and backing away with darkness
again.
Tokiya grinned softly. "You heard my everyword didn't you? You
aren't
ugly."
Fuuko stared up at him. "You really think so? You're not just saying
that?"
"Yes, I do and no, I'm not just saying so. In fact, I
think
you are the most beautiful, stunning, irresistible person on this
earth.
Don't ever think you're a loser, cause you're not. You're kind and
considerate
and will do anything to get a smile out of a friend and I love you for
it."
"You really love me?" Fuuko exclaimed with disbelief in
her
voice.
"Isn't that what I just said?" Tokiya answered softly,
embarrassed
that he had just revealed a part of himself to her.
"I love you too!" She replied as she threw her arms
around
his neck and hugged him. He tipped her chin up and kissed her
passionately,
pouring all the love he felt for her into one kiss.
~~~~~~

"I now pronounce you man and wife." The priest said and,
you may say while though, Tokiya proudly kissed his new blushing bride
to
the uproarious applause of the guests in the church.
Who would have thought that they would end up like this?
His Fuuko had agreed to marry him. He was still in shock. He led her
back
down the aisle and out of the church to start their new life together.
