Lonely Love: Chapter 9
~~~
He was going to tell her that he loved her.And no matter
what her decision, he would be happy, just knowing that she finally
knew.
Finally.
~~~
Tokiya stopped by Fuuko's office but she wasn't there.
'Where can she be?' he asked disturbed.
He just about checked out the whole building but she was
nowhere to be found. He couldn't ask Maruko since he would then be
jealous
and get suspicious.
He finally spotted Michirure there checking out the
latest
designs in one of the cubicles of the co-workers. She stood there
looking
over the shoulder of Raiha, one of the computer experts.
Tokiya quickly rushed towards her. "Michirure-san, have
you
seen Fuuko-san?" he asked.
The load in his back was getting heavier and heavier. If
he didn't see her soon and confess what his exact thoughts are, that
she
wasn't just his imouto, he would explode.
And to the fact that his head and heart were still going
at it with the debate, it really wasn't helping him one single bit.
'Why couldn't have I told her sooner that I loved her?
Why
does it have to be too late?'
'Let's see, you were too busy with Anna, to notice?' his
head answered back sarcastically.
Maybe it was pressure or the tension in the building,
but
he really was getting tired and weak. He had to tell Fuuko his feelings
before.
'Before.what?'
Before Maruko and Fuuko's relationship gets any serious.
'Marriage?'
Now where did that come from? No way, Fuuko would tell
him
sooner.right?
Michirure looked at him thoughtfully. "What's with the
rush,
Tokiya-san? The question is what's with the rush with you and
Fuuko-chan?"
"You saw Fuuko, Michirure-san?" ignoring the last
comment.
Michirure nodded and pointed the direction of the
elevator
where Fuuko now stood. Tokiya said thanks over his shoulder as he
joined
Fuuko in the elevator.
~~~
"Hey, Tokiya! It's nice to bump into you! Where are you
going
right now?" Fuuko asked trying to assemble a laid-back greeting.
"Nowhere particular." Tokiya answered bluntly.
Knowing what Fuuko was actually trying to do, he could
sense
it.
Was it time? Was it time to tell her that I have always
loved
her? Is it the time? Was she feeling the same feelings as he felt for
her?
"Oh! I see! I'm meeting Maruko around the parking lot.
We're
going out to dinner. Care to join us?"
Tokiya shook his head. "No thanks. I'm too busy anyway.
You
know, work."
Fuuko nodded in agreement, still in her face a smile.
Tokiya looked at her smiling face.
How come he never noticed before?
How deep her dimples are or how intense and mysterious
her
eyes are? How come?
I am such an idiot.
The way she would always stay behind a little to give
him
and Anna some personal space and time alone, or the cheerless smile
that
always appeared whenever he told her not to wait up for him.
She didn't deserve him. HE didn't deserve her.
I didn't even considered her own feelings.
I'm a horrible person.
I have to apologize!
Tokiya took a step in front of her and closed the space
among
them with a hug.
Fuuko took a step backward, shocked and somewhat stunned
at how her reaction was to his hug.
Her arms involuntarily went around his neck. She liked
the
feeling of him hugging her. It was usually her who started the hugs.
Sometimes,
Tokiya was just so distant and icy as if he in no way cared.
It was Tokiya who first broke contact.
"I'm so sorry, that I never paid enough attention to
you,
Fuu-chan." Tokiya murmured. "Forgive me."
Fuuko stared, dazed and overflowing with pleasure that
in
someway Tokiya had shown her the same feelings she has exposed him two
years
ago.
She stared and said nothing.
Is this an illusion?
Am I dreaming?
This must be real. But.but what is he trying to say?
Does
he still judge me as his imouto?
~~~
What's the matter?
Why isn't she saying anything?
Fuuko blinked. She cleared her throat and smiled.
"'Course
I do, Toki-chan! I saw you talking to Michirure just a few minutes
ago."
she grinned, though inside sadly.
"Michirure?" Tokiya grinned. "Jealous, Fuu-chan?"
Fuuko slapped him playfully, though not intended, and
painfully.
"Don't be silly, Toki-chan. I'm happy with Maruko, didn't you notice?"
He did notice.
He smiled his usual icy smiles. "'Course I did
Fuu-chan."
Fuuko's smile wavered a little bit.
He doesn't care. I should've realized it.
"Well, now that you're back to the old Toki-chan that I
know,
did she accept a dinner date?" she teased.
Tokiya shook his head. "As a matter of fact, no."
Fuuko's eyes grew big. "Nani? It's a miracle! Quick call
the presses! Tokiya Mikagami was rejected by Michirure Hana-"
The pressure of Tokiya's lips on hers cut her of, Fuuko
the
realized that Tokiya was kissing her.
Tokiya gently stopped and looked at her. "Gomennasai.
You
just talk too much."
Fuuko touched her lips gently. Looked at Tokiya, and
then
captured his lips on her again. Tokiya was shocked at first but then
reacted
to it.
By that time, they had reached the basement where Maruko
was waiting with his car. Naturally, the elevators door automatically
opened
and showed Tokiya and Fuuko kissing, unconscious to Maruko watching.
~~~
Maruko looked at them confused. He then smiled.
"Good luck you too!" he whispered then got into his car
and
drove off.
Fuuko glanced up and saw Maruko driving away waving at
them.
'Maruko' Fuuko looked at the small figure of Maruko.
'Thank
you Maru-chan'
Tokiya glanced at who she was looking at. "Fuuko? Is.is
Maruko
gonna be alright?"
Fuuko nodded then smiled up towards him. "Hai. I really
do
think so, don't you agree, Toki-chan?"
Tokiya smiled. "Listen, Fuu-chan, I told you the name is
'Tokiya-chan' not 'Toki-chan' it really ruins my image."
Still the faint sounds of Tokiya and Fuuko's voices can
be
heard as the elevator rose up again to the first floor. Tokiya, was
still
giving her a lecture about his name. Fuuko interrupts him by giving him
a kiss after every word.
