We first see Domon in the first episode, fighting Recca. Obviously, Recca manages to "defeat" him, and we see Domon swearing to make Recca his ninja one day. Unfortunately for him, that never happens. ^_^ It may not seem so, but he and Recca are really good friends. Whenever Recca is in trouble, (or any of his other friends for that matter) Domon is not far behind.
Unluckily for Domon, he is often seen as the weakest fighting member of Hokage, so he has an overpowering urge to prove himself to the others. It is true that at the beginning of the series, he is pretty weak (in terms of skill, not strength, since he has plenty of that!), but towards the end he becomes much stronger than before.
Domon has a crush on Fuuko, constantly asking her out on dates and even asking her for a kiss when he thought they were going to die! However, Fuuko doesn't seem to feel the same way! *grin*
Overall, Domon is a guy who doesn't get as much credit as he deserves. Sure, he isn't that handsome, nor clever, but he does have his good points. He is one guy who will keep on fighting even if he thinks it is hopeless. He fights not only to prove that he can do it, but to protect all his friends. He may not seem it at times, but he certainly is a worthy Hokage member!
Interesting facts:
1) Domon has a fan, too! It turns out that Inoko, the kawaii little pirate girl referee absolutely adores him! Unfortunately, Domon is upset because Recca and Tokiya have pretty girls who have crushes on them and he only has a young girl as a fan! *grin*
2) In the manga, he didn't want to take the Saturn's ring from Kagerou, trying to act all macho by saying that he didn't need it, but Kagerou switched his nose rings when he wasn't looking. (Now how in the world did she do that? When he was sleeping? I wonder...)
3) After reading some manga translations for volume 20, we learn that Domon can be a REALLY BIG pervert when he wants to be. -_- Poor Kirin. Go to Sumeragi's Recca no Honoo page (Found on my links page) to find out what I'm talking about.
