Raiha

Age: Unknown, perhaps early/late twenties.
Gender: Male
Psychic devices: The Raijin, which can control thunder and is the 'evil' counterpart to the Fuujin.
Element: Thunder

To put it bluntly, Raiha is an enigma. Not much is known about this Uruha Asassin, and what we DO know is shrouded in mystery. Who is he exactly? Why does he work for Kurei? And most importantly, what does his psychic device look like and why doesn't he ever use it? Recent events in the manga have uncovered a whole new facet to his personality; although he may frequently act goofy, there is another darker side of himself which he keeps hidden most of the time.

It's proven that he is capable of and is willing to kill enemies ruthlessly. He is, after all, an Uruha Asassin. In fact, we should have been aware of this fact much earlier on, but previously we had never seen first-hand the devastating effects he can have on his foes, since during the Urabutousatsujin he is clearly seen shaking hands with his defeated opponents, indicating that he had somehow managed to best them without shedding any blood. The only time he really does kill anyone in cold blood is in manga 20. His victim? Soukakusai. And there wasn't much left of him when Raiha was done.

Another intriguing aspect of him is that he wields one of them most powerful psychic devices and yet refuses to use it. He has stated before that the Raijin is so powerful that even he, a person who fights with only a sword and wins almost every time unless he chooses otherwise, is afraid of it. (Spoiler, highlight to read) *** In fact, he he fears its power so much that he actually used the central orb of the Fuujin to seal its powers. In volume 23, he gives the orb to Fuuko after training her for three days. During their conversaation, a picture of a bug-like thing was shown in the background, and it seems as if it could fit a person's wrist. Could it be the Raijin? We have yet to see - Raiha is most probably only going to use it for the final battle against Kouran Mori. ***

In short, as childish as Raiha may seem to be on the surface, the other part of his personality is shrouded in mystery. His story is one many would like to know, but as of yet none of us has any answers other than the many cryptic clues set aside for us to ponder. Is he really the cheery goofball or the cold-blooded assassin? There really is no single answer to that question - perhaps he is both.

All coins have two sides, after all.
