At first, we think that Shigeo Hanabishi is Recca's biological father, but it turns out later on that he is in reality Recca's foster father. Shigeo was walking back home one day in the rain, minding his own business, when suddenly a baby appeared out of nowhere. Looking around, he saw no one, and picked the baby up. The only identification that he could find was the name "Recca" emblazoned on the baby's clothes, and so he concluded that the baby was abandoned and decided that he would adopt it. (The scene that unfolds later on is really funny. After taking Recca home, Shigeo tries asking him who he is [Huh! As if he could understand! He was only one, for goodness sake's! ^_^] and Recca coos cutely before peeing on him, much to his dismay. LOL) And so Shigeo Hanabishi made a decision which would change his entire BACHELOR life forever.

Why do I stress the word BACHELOR? Well you see, before Recca literally fell into his life, Shigeo was still single. The picture which he pretended was a photo of his "deceased wife" was actually that of his favourite idol! o_0

Personality wise, Shigeo is like an older version of Recca. (Well duh! He DID raise Recca, you know. :p) He has a big heart, and can be very hot-tempered. One of the things he hates most is to see a woman cry, just like Recca, or should I say Recca is just like him. (Remember the fight with Menou?) He has a tendency to smoke while making fireworks, which is a habit Recca detests, and this is what happens when Recca catches him at it:

Despite the fact that he and Recca fight a lot, ( He doesn't like Recca using his fireworks for 'useless' things) I think that they they really do get along very well. Thanks to one manga translation page, (I'll put the link up later) I know that during Manga volume 18 (Or was it 19? I can't remember), when both Shigeo and Yanagi were being held hostage by the enemy, he refused to choose between the two of them. (And we all know how much he loves his 'Hime') Luckily, Kagerou was able to free Shigeo and Recca then saved Yanagi.

Interesting facts:

1) Shigeo and Kagerou seem to have a thing for each other... *grins wickedly*
