Cooper was born in the state of Washington in 1971. Growing up he was very shy and preferred hanging out with the adults. His favorite place to be was at his Grandparents house where he would occassionally be caught eating out of the garden. If he wasn't eating the Wild Strawberries he was eating the peas. One of Cooper's childhood memories is the ritual of after his Grandfather came home he would get the left over cookies that had been saved for him. Even though the same kind of cookies were in his Grandma's cookie jar, it was better coming out of Grandpa's lunchbox. While Cooper was in High School he joined the Search and Rescue Team. He carried a pager that would let him know that his team was needed. After being paged he would gather up the rest of the High School students who were apart of the Search and Rescue Team. Then at 16 he learned how to western dance and has been dancing ever since. Hanging out at one of the local bars; they aloud under 21 years old to be there until 10pm, Cooper was well known for his great dancing skills. When he turned 21 the bar was execpting him at midnight and even had a drink ready for him. During this time Cooper's interest in riding a bull became reality. As one of his mentors told him, "Your a natural at it" and after riding in his first competition he was headed for the circuit. When he rode his competition; wearing a pair of chaps that his Step-Dad had made in High School but never wore his Mom and Step-Dad were there; his Step-Dad was damn proud of him and his Mom was speachless which is unusual. Cooper finished in the top 10, not bad for his first competition. Cooper however never made it to the rodeo circuit. Cooper traveled to Alaska and was going to live up there...........then decided no and came home. Now he was ready for the circuit. Ha ha and then he met me. His mentor told him No, you've got a good women now..........you leave the circuit alone, it's not something you can do as a hobby. And so Cooper settled down with me and had a family. After Cooper became settled and actually stayed in one place for more than a year he went back to his first love, rescue; and joined our local fire department. |
