The world has tried, in many ways, to discredit the fact of Jesus' resurrection - bodily. People have tried to theorize the nature of that concept. It is amazing that while trying to do that, people will swallow all kinds of concepts yet never attain the peace and joy "that our salvation brings."
History will continue to record the fact that the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ make the difference for changed lives - as individuals, as families, as nations and as churches.
The statement that Jesus said He would rise again after three days (Matthew 27:63) shook up a whole bunch of religionists. So shook were they that the chief priests and the Pharisees asked Pilate to allow them to secure the tomb to keep the disciples from stealing the body and saying that He was raised from the dead.
So they sealed the tomb and placed the guards at the tomb twenty-four hours a day for three days.
But like so many people who think they are worshipping and serving Jehovah God, they did not, nor we, take into account the Truth and the Omnipotence of God. Resurrection Sunday, April 15th, we will sing "vainly they watch his bed" and "vainly they seal the dead."
We cannot hinder God's purpose for His Son, nor countenance evil for the truth. When God speaks truth to His creatures, the responsibility still falls on us to respond immediately.
May there be complete response to the message of Calvary and the Empty Tomb. You'll be glad you did.
