An Icthus Fish! What's this?

BRIANNA

Well, I'll be honest, when my mom said we were going on this retreat, I was thinking, "Oh yea.  A 17 year old going away for a whole weekend with a bunch of adults.  Just what all of us want to do."  So I took every opportunity on the way there to make fun of my mom (because the women were not really good at getting directions).  But it was a lot of fun, to be honest.

We did have a little trouble getting places, but it was no big deal.  It was nice kind of joking around about it in the car.  I started thinking about it at the end because, like Linda said, we knew we were going to be saying something today and I kind of wanted to tie it together with something I learned this weekend.

One thing I thought about was that I am one of the youth in the church.  We've got all different age groups here.  But one thing that I think is a problem for everyone here, not just kids, not just adults, not just women, not just me, is knowing that we are chosen by God.  I've always known that God made me and I know that you know that God made all of you.

It's not just that He made something, He chose each one of us.  On top of that, He's got something planned.  I started thinking about how we had a little bit of trouble getting there to the hotel.  You know what?   Just like we have trouble every day in our lives, He knew where we were going, He knew how He wanted us to get there and when He wanted us to get there.  I was getting anxious in the car.  I was hot and wanted to get there.  Just like everyday I want to rush along, but the truth is that it is all in God's timing.
