Rank:

* All officer’s and NCO’s will wear proper rank assigned to them in camp and on the battlefield.

* Persons portraying a 1st person impression in camp should don a coat with proper rank when forming for battle.
* Persons also will direct couriers and other information directly to Brigade and Battalion Officers when confronted.

* NCO’s in late war may go without proper rank insignia as has been noted in research but FCL ask that all NCO’s wear their rank for the ease of keeping troop confusion down.

Flags:

* All flags should be of proper material type and style for the time portrayed.

* No Flea Market type flags

* No Third National’s

* No Battle Flags at Manassas

* Proper flag pole should be used at all times.

* It is asked to make the camp look more correct that only the Battalion flags and Brigade Flags be flown in Camp. A units flag maybe used on the field if clear by the General for that day’s battle.

Civilians:

* All children are welcome
   o Children should be in constant control by parent or guardian
   o Children should remain in period dress during the hours that camps are open to public.

* All civilian re-enactor’s must remain in period dress during the time that camps are open to the public.
   o It is suggested for Adult civilians and children over the age of 5 remain in period dress for the entire event.            Units come to relive a piece of history and civilians in shorts and sweats are inappropriate.

Weapon Safety:

* No loaded muskets in camp

* No ramrods are to be pulled during a battle or tactical scenario unless ordered by the Sgt-Maj or Staff.

* All weapons will be cleaned after each battle and inspected prior to next battle.

* If weapons do not pass inspection rifle will not be allowed on the field.

* All pistols whether loaded or unloaded will be secured in camp.  Preference is that all rounds be discharged before returning to camp following battle.  There are to many kids and spectators to have pistols readily available.

* Swords and bayonets will remain in sheath/scabbard at all times in camp.

* Safety officer will inspect rounds, no double loading of rounds will be allowed.  If Safety Officer feels that rounds are dangerous you will not be allowed in the ranks. If there is a question about the round, it will be open and inspected by the safety officer and a member of the Staff

* If caught double loading in the ranks, the individual will be asked to leave the ranks. We do this for safety; double loading may cause a musket to explode.

Modern Equipment:

* During the hours that camp is open to the public NO MODERN equipment is to be seen.  (i.e. Food should be contained in jars, bowls, and bags).

* No coolers in plain site

* Bottles and trash should be placed in trash bags and stored out of site.

* Brigade and Battalion Provosts are to be used to Marshall the camp areas and will inform you of items that must be removed or covered.  The Provost has the backing of Brigade and Battalion officers and should be treated as such.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH PROVOST WILL RESULT IN INDIVIDUALS BARED FROM PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT.

* Have tents properly stowed as to open tent flies.  Spectators will look in even if they are tied.  Simple burlap bags and gum blankets will suffice.

Language:

* Excessive language and vulgarities will not be tolerated.  We represent a time when honor and station were well defined and excessive foul language is inappropriate and rude to the spectators, children, and women in camp.

* ? Language should be appropriate while in ranks and should be limited to casual, low tone communication.  During battle excessive noise and communication other than that of a safety nature should be held to a minimum to allow proper communication between officers and the rank and file.

After Hours:

* Until all quiet, excessive noise and movement should be limited as to not bother those families attending or older patrons.  Excessive noise will be confronted by the Provost of the Battalion or Brigade and you will be asked to keep it down, failure to do so may lead to you not participating in the Event.
