Like most
good horsemen Mike has loved horses and anything equine for as long as
he can remember, but he has always held a preference for the Cowboy
Way. So while rest of his classmates were driving fast cars and
playing basketball Mike was bull riding on the High School Rodeo circuit
and at age 16 started his apprenticeship as a farrier. The day he
graduated from high school Mike packed his bags and headed West. He
landed a job in Wyoming working as a wrangler for TA Guest Range in
Buffalo. He also continued to ride bulls on the IPRA and Bud Light rodeo
circuits. Then (lucky for all us horse people around southern Indiana
and definitely for Mike) Elizabeth lassoed him with a
wedding band and
settled him down in Vincennes. Thanks to her we not only have a
wonderful farrier and horse trainer we have a Rodeo cause Mike has
brought the IPRA rodeo to our very own Knox County Fair Grounds! So whenever
you see Elizabeth be sure to give her a great big "Thank You"!!! Mike and
Elizabeth have two little buckaroos, Katlelyn and Colton. Remember
those names, they may end up being the next generation of great team ropers!
