There's no point in recording the temperature anymore cause we just don't know what's the conversion factor. Our (Wowo, Grace, and I) plan for the day was to go to
Mt Taal. On the way to
Tagaytay, Wowo showed us more of his driving skills driving at top speed on yellow lights, and slowing down on red lights (without stopping), more driving on 2 lanes and in between all that, I saw another guy peeing. I noticed that whenever there's a red light in the street, these peddlers flood onto the street and offer to light the taxi driver's cigarettes for a few pisos. I suggested to Wowo that I want a picture of the peddler lighting up Wowo's cigarette for a few pisos. Wowo also gave a quick rundown history of the homes next to the train station...the train's roof are slanted so that people in the homes can't throw their garbage on the train roofs because it'll just slide back down onto them...guess it's their way of recycling. I figure that P400 is okay for the boat ride on Lake Taal, but the horse ride was outrageous - P420! What's worst is that we thought Mt Taal's crater is approx 3 miles (one way), but it's really 1 mile (one way). My horse was constantly stubborn while Grace's horse kept on sneezing and tripping over stuff. Wowo's horse was more like a horse. At the top of the crater, I couldn't help noticing its crater's beauty, along with the locals' garbage along the crater. Afterwards, we went to Dencio's and had a delicious lunch. We had sisig, bulalo, grilled squid, and mango salad. I got to experience coconut (buko) juice which wasn't all that sweet. While eating lunch, I couldn't help noticing a Filipino woman that was unusally tall. Wowo and Grace said, "it's a guy". It turned out that this will not be my only time that I experience it. It rained on the way back to the hotel and I noticed that some people walked barefoot in the streets...aren't there any broken glasses strewn around?!?!? Back at the hotel, I began to have problems with the hotel service. Normally, I am used to at least 3 towels per person (2 large, and 1 small), but we only had 5 towels (3 large and 2 small). I went downstairs to request for an additional towel and that's when they indicated that they will charge me for additional towels. Mari: I didn't see anything. |

We all thought this was Mt Taal, but it's behind this crater, so what is that crater?!?! |

We rode this boat to get to Mt Taal. |

...along with the locals' garbage. That white puff in the pic indicates that it's still active. |

Over the yonder are the fish ponds. |

One of those precious moments photo where Grace is practicing her oxymoron-multitasking skills between riding the horse and juggling the cell phone. |
