Born and raised on the Manitoba Prairie, education began in a one-room school house. Earliest and fondest memories are of brilliant starry skies above a blanket of sparkling white snow, flashing bright sunsets and northern lights and vast expanses of prairie silence.

At age sixteen Franceene attended secretarial school and pursued an exciting career with Trans-Canada Airlines, in Winnipeg, Montreal and Toronto; and with Western Air Lines in San Diego, where she lived for six years.  She later joined Air Canada in Seattle, Washington where she lived for seven years.

Returning to Canada she pursued a career as a legal secretary before entering the University of Victoria Bachelor of Arts program.  Her keen interest in teaching children began at an early age and she transferred to the Faculty of Education, to complete her Bachelor of Education, Music Concentration in 1999.

Early interest in music began in the one-room school house as Franceene listened to the opera Aïda on the gramophone, and began to take piano lessons from her school teacher.  During a lengthy working career, she completed the Royal Conservatory of Music Grade Nine level piano.

Franceene has always been interested in sports and fitness.  She has a deep love of love of Métis and old time fiddle music and is becoming a fiddlers accompaniest on piano

One of her greatest joys is the interaction with children.  She is finally able to fulfil her longing to teach them and share her wealth of learning.
