Historical Flags: Wartime Flags, 1990-1993

Serbia declared independence from the Confederation of Soviet Danubian States in 1990. The present Kingdom of Serbia was formally established in 1993.

Flag used by Serbian separatists and subsequently by Serbian guerilla units during the war of independence from the CSDS. First seen in 1990. The inscription says "For King and Fatherland" above the skull and "Freedom or Death" below.
