1. What does Flamenco y Mas Mean? Flamenco y Mas means: "Flamenco and More". The classes I teach are comprised of: flamenco technique, classical Spanish dance and the use of castanets. I begin with the popular regional dance of "Sevillanas" and move on to fandangos, alegrias, bulerias and other Flamenco rhythms. 2. Do I Need A Partner For The Class? No, Flamenco is traditionally danced solo ~ however, for some choreography we may dance with partners but not necessarily male/female. 3. Are There Classes For Men, Women & Children? Yes, our classes for men and women have been ongoing since May 1999, and in October 2002 we will be offering classes for children 8 years old and up. 4. Do You Have A Guitarist In The Class? Yes, we have a guitarist for our upper levels. I do not use a guitarist for complete beginners because most of the teaching focuses on the basics. 5. Can Anyone/Age Take Class? Yes, if you have the desire to learn something new ~ this style of dance is for you. Ages vary, but this is the beauty of flamenco, there is something for everyone! 6. Do I Need To Purchase Flamenco Shoes Right Away? No, I always recommend trying a term of classes before making the investment. Once you are hooked, go ahead ~ You will see how it really is an important tool especially for footwork. Ana Got A Question You'd Like To Add To Our FAQ Page? Email Lynn |
