Planeteer Narrative #3 |
Part 1 |

It has come to my attention that there is a serious deficiency in Captain Planet fanfic. I wonder why...(snicker derisively) So, I have taken it upon myself to write one, and Jagga help whoever reads it. It's better than Shadows, but that's not saying much. Oh, my, I've done it again. Well, I'd love you if you read it. It actually has some semblance of a plot, so, please, pull up a chair for chapter one of--well, a lot. As for the time, this is a few months after the Ronins defeat Talpa the second time and maybe two years from where Captain Planet the TV show leaves off. I don't know if those two time periods align, but I think they're pretty close. Also, it isn't only meant to be goofy, so please at least pretend I can write worth beans. Graz. Disclaimer: I don't own the Ronins, I don't own the Planeteers. Good bye. Linka gazed out of the planet window at the destruction below and sighed. "It is hard to believe that one man could cause all this," she sighed in her thick Eastern European accent. In front of her, in the pilot's seat, Kwame nodded his agreement. "Duke Nukem is a strong and dangerous opponent. We were lucky that Gi's aquatic friends could save Wheeler's ring when he dropped it into that well." "Hey, that wasn't my fault!" Wheeler cried from the back. "Ma-Ti's stupid monkey grabbed it from my hand and threw it in!" The other Planeteers chuckled. Wheeler and the monkey, named Suchi, hadn't gotten along very well after the little incident with Wheeler's favorite sneakers. Ever since then, Wheeler had blamed the monkey for everything. "I swear, you guys, that monkey is evil!" "We know, Wheeler," Gi laughed. Ma-Ti, angry at Wheeler's accusations, just sulked in the front seat. Kwame announced, "We are crossing over the Sea of Japan. We will be back to Hope Island in a few hours." Ma-Ti was glad. Suchi's feelings were hurt by Wheeler, and Ma-Ti was not pleased. The monkey had been his friend all the way through his adventures with the Planeteers, for the last, oh three or four years. Even now, at age sixteen, he still kept Suchi with him at all times. Never mind what Wheeler said. The monkey was his friend and definitely not evil. In the woods near Mia's mansion, Sage sat meditating in his favorite spot. His mind kept turning to the last battle with the Dynasty. Talpa had been defeated, and the Warlords had turned to the good side. But he couldn't help but wonder... "He was so powerful. How can we be sure he's really gone this time?" he wondered aloud. "Don't worry, my friend. I'm sure he's gone for good." Sage looked up to see Cye walking out of the woods. "Mia sent me to tell you it's time for dinner." Sage stood up and stretched his legs. "All right. Let's go." As they walked back to the house, Mia pulled up in her jeep. She and Kento hopped out, holding take-out bags from Kento's family's restaurant (isn't that all the Ronins ever eat?). Yuli ran out of the house grinning. "All right! Take-out!" Inside, the Ronins sat down to eat, White Blaze at their feet. Through a mouth full of food, Kento said, "I think we should go to town tonight. Ya know, go clubbin', see a movie, do somethin'. I'm gettin' bored cooped up in here." Cye piped in, "I've got the next Red Dwarf series my friend sent me." Rowan looked up excitedly, but the rest of the Ronins groaned. Ryo looked up and said, "Let's go to town." "Wait," said Mia. "What about Yuli? He certainly can't go clubbing." "Yes, I can! I'll be real good, I promise! Please, Mia? Pllllllllllease?" He looked up at her with what were supposed to be big puppy dog eyes. Mia, however, was sick of Yuli's cuteness and would not be swayed by those eyes. "Sorry, Yuli, but you're not old enough." "How about a movie, then?" asked Rowan. Everyone agreed, and Mia went to do the dishes while the guys cleaned up. Sage, however, lingered behind. Ryo looked at him. "You okay?" he asked. Sage looked down then turned to his friend. "Talpa was so powerful. How do we know he's really gone?" "Don't worry, man. Everything's okay. He's gone, and he's not coming back." Sage gave a half smile, then turned to go to his room. A tall, dark figure sat on a throne of dark rock, watching the Ronins through a viewing portal. A deep, raspy voice said, "To town, is it, Ronins? Well, enjoy your trip, for it shall be your last. I, Lord Terave, declare it to be so!" The figure's evil laugh echoed through the dark hall. In their little, yellow plane, the Planeteers watched the countryside below them and sighed. Gi smiled, "This is my homeland. Isn't it beautiful?" Linka turned to her. "You are from Japan?" Gi furrowed her brow. "Well, no. Not exactly. I'm from Asia. They never say countries when they say these things, only regions. Maybe they don't want to offend anybody." "Stupid, politically correct--" "Don't say anything you might regret, Linka. It is a children's show," Wheeler interrupted from the seat behind her. "Besides, they said I'm from New York aloud on the show." "Only to show how dirty and polluted it is," intoned Linka, turning to face him. If she wanted to call people politically correct, she would, no matter what Wheeler thought. "You should talk, Miss Soviet Union," he shot back. "Your country sure worked out real well. It doesn't even exist anymore." "Yes it does!" she shouted, hurt. No one, and I mean no one, ripped on her homeland. "We just have a new name. Besides, you only defend New York because of your hooker girlfriend. What was her name...Trash?" "Her name's Trish, she's not a hooker, and for the last time, she's NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!" "Then why do you get so angry when we say so, New York boy? Is she the only one who will put up with your clothing?" That one was off-sides. Linka knew that Wheeler had become very self-conscious, about when he hit nineteen. But that rip on Russia... Wheeler replied, "My clothes are fine, thank you! Maybe I could give you some lessons. You know, get some decent shorts on you, get your hair out of that ponytail, tone down the fluorescent lipstick..." Linka gasped as her hands went to her mouth. He thought her lipstick was fluorescent?! Well, she'd show him. "You fight Eco-Villains and international terrorists like a girl!" In an instant, Wheeler was out of his chair and had Linka pinned to the floor, holding her wrists. "Take it back, commie!" His face was inches from hers. She looked at him and cocked an eyebrow. "Don't you kiss me!" The comment surprised him enough that he loosened his hold (chalk up one for the Road Rovers!). She thrashed from side to side and managed to get a wrist free, which she used to punch him in the stomach. She then planted both feet on his stomach and flipped him over her head. As they fought, the other Planeteers looked at each other. "Get a room, you two," Gi called back. Linka looked up from where she sat on Wheeler's chest. "Huh?" Wheeler looked up, enraged. "WHAT?" Linka looked confused. "I do not understand." Wheeler groaned. "As if." The other Planeteers sighed and smiled. Kwame grinned. "If it was not completely obvious already..." he muttered to his friends. "It is now," Gi finished. Ma-Ti felt as if hit by a falling tree chopped down by an evil eco-terrorist. He had not noticed it at all. Could it really be? he wondered. As he watched them, he realized it must be. He sighed, knowing he couldn't compare with Wheeler. he didn't even have a chance at Linka. He buried his face in Suchi's fur, not noticiing the evil look on his monkey's face. The Ronins had again somehow fit seven people into Mia's little jeep and were now heading towards town, having left White Blaze at home. Mia was driving, with Ryo next to her and Yuli on his lap. Yuli had a new pop-up book on his lap, one with a big, tall tower pop-up. He wanted to show it to Ryo. "Hey, Ryo, watch this!" "I'm watching it, Yuli. What is it?" In answer, Yuli opened the book quickly, popping up the tower right in Ryo's face. "AHHHHHH!" "Ryo, are you all right?" Mia asked, quickly taking her eyes off the road and looking at him. She gasped. In his moment of terror, Ryo had changed into his armor and used the Wildfire swords to slice the book into three pieces. Mia pulled over and everyone stared. Ryo gave an embarrassed smile as he changed back in to his civilian clothes. "Sorry. I was...startled." Yuli, who was looking at his book with his huge eyes quivering, suddenly burst into tears. "I want my book!" Everyone sighed as Ryo got red in the face and tried to laugh. "Sorry, Yuli." The dark figure watched the scene and sighed. "These idiots defeated Talpa?" Then he smiled, or as close as a shadowy figure can be to smiling. "Revenge shall be easy. I might even get back in time for Scooby Doo!" Lord Terave stood and opened a portal. "At last Talpa shall be avenged!" he proclaimed as he stepped through the portal. Mia parked the car and the Ronins jumped out. "Which movie do you guys want to see?" Mia asked. Yuli jumped up and down excitedly and said to her, "I know what I want to see!" She laughed at Yuli's excitement, although inwardly hoping he would quiet down sometime in the evening. "Well, what do you think, Yuli?" Ryo asked. Yuli just glared at him. He was still angry about the pop-up book. Mia sighed and asked, "What do you want to see, Yuli?" Before Yuli could answer, dark clouds suddenly started to gather. With a growing feeling of horror, the Ronins turned around to see a large appear in the sky. They all gasped, and Mia voiced the thought that entered each of their minds. "Oh, no. Not again!" Peace had once again entered the Planeteers' plane. Gi had finally gotten sick of Wheeler and Linka's fight, and had gone to the back and separated them. They now sat on the other side of the plane, sulking and occasionally glaring at each other. Ma-Ti was also sulking, hugging his pet monkey. Gi couldn't begin to guess why. So she talked to Kwame. They lightheartedly discussed this and that and the daring exploits they had been on. Then Kwame asked, "Gi, what would you look for in a man?" Gi knew he was not interested in her; the two of them had discussed it, and they were quite clear on that. So, she thought a moment and said, "I would want him to love fish...as much as he loves me." Kwame snorted. "What was that?" Gi asked. "Nothing," he replied. He looked out the window, then at a map. "We have just flown over the Bay of Toyama. There seems to be storm brewing." Suddenly he gasped. "Look at that!" He had such urgency in his voice that all four of the other Planeteers turned to look. There was a large city below them. The clouds seemed to be centered there, and there was a huge, red door standing in the air. Linka gasped. "Gaia, what is that?" The purple-clad spirit appeared and shook her head. "I don't know, Planeteers. I truly don't know." Wheeler looked at Kwame. "We gotta go down there and see!" Kwame agreed and started to land the plane in a field next to a movie theatre parking lot, watching the door all the time. The Ronins quickly changed into their sub-armor and ran towards the door. As they jumped into the street, Ryo shouted, "Ronins, to arms!" They were all about to comply, but then they heard a voice behind them. "Why does he get to say the 'to arms' part?" They turned to see Rowan standing behind them with his arms folded. Ryo replied, "Because I'm the unofficial leader." Sage countered, "Because he's got the tiger." Cye answered, "Because we don't want to start a fight over it with Ryo." Kento retorted, "Because you got a funny accent. Who wants to be called to 'ahms'?" Rowan dropped to the ground, hugged his knees, and burst into tears. Mia walked over, jerked his chin up, and slapped him. He looked surprised, then got up. Mia turned to the other Ronins. "All right, who gave him sugar?" Everyone turned to glare at Cye, who put his hands up in defense. "Hey, he stole them from me!" They all went to beat on Cye and Rowan, but Yuli interrupted. "Uh, guys?" he said, pointing at the door and the figure walking through. The Ronins and Mia turned to it and gasped. Ryo turned to Rowan. "All right, Rowan. You can do it." Rowan cheered, then shouted, "Ronin Warriahs, to ahms!" "Armor of Wildfire, Dao Jin!" "Armor of Torrent, Dao Shin!" "Armor of Halo, Dao Chi!" "Armor of Strata, Dao Inochi!" "Armor of Hardrock, Dao Gi!" They transformed and ran towards the door, not noticing the yellow plane landing in the field behind them. The Planeteers stared in shock at the now armored young men running towards the door. "Did - did I really just see that?" Kwame asked. "Those men just - just - just transformed!" "Yeah," Wheeler chimed in, "and where did all those flower petals and long rolls of cloth come from?" Gi added, "And who are those two people by that jeep in the parking lot?" "I do not know, my friends," answered Linka, "but we should go out and see what is going on." They all agreed and hopped out of the plane. Ma-ti stared after Linka. She's so clever, he thought to himself longingly. He then whispered to his monkey, "Go bite Wheeler." Part 2 |
