Gaia sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by the three remaining Planeteers. She had an angry look on her face and there were worry lines in her forehead. "This is serious, group. Two of our planeteers are missing. Without them we can't create the Captain and we only have a little more than half of our powers." "Maybe they went off to elope," said Ma-Ti with a snicker. Gi sent him an angry look, and that silenced him. "Do you think that this has anything to do with that woman we met...who was she...Kaw?" Fire lit up in Gaia's eyes. These were flames of anger, and she stood up and cried, "I should have known!" "Well, what are we going to do to get them back?" Gi wondered out loud. "Kaw took them so she could...convert them...so to speak, and then use them against us. We'll have to use a little bit of Kaw's own medicine." Gaia turned and left the room. ------ "So, how is birdseed production going?" asked Kaw while spooning sunflower seeds into her mouth. "According to plans," said both Plunder and Blight at once. "Then why haven't I recieved any shipments?" "We sent the truck out yesterday. We do have one handicap...our truck services aren't quite reliable," Plunder said while turning a slight shade of red. "I'll send a team of birds to drive the trucks. You may fire these...truck driving services." Birds driving trucks? This is really weird, thought Blight. She could only imagine a group of kids on a bus taking a field trip on the highway, and as the truck pulled up next to the bus the kids would look inside and see birds with talons clamped around the steering wheel. The sound of Plunder talking broke her twisted reverie. "Blight, what do you think? Can we spare a few thousand dollars each year to create berries to be shipped over to Kaw's headquarters?" "What's in it for us?" Kaw dug deep into her pocket and pulled out two shimmering statues. She gave one of them to Plunder and the other to Blight. "Golden apples..." said Blight. "I thought these existed only in myth!" said Plunder while calculating how much he could sell it for. "There will be eternal riches for you in the world to come!" said Kaw, who paid the check and flew out through the window. ----- Meanwhile, Linka and Wheeler were still asleep in the Sapphire Hall...and Helenadia was upstairs brushing her hair when she heard a loud crash...
