Once upon a time, in the great continent of Europa, there was a group of rebellious citizens that could not bear to accept the oppressive status quo. These were a group of highly inventive individuals who wanted liberty and justice for all. Their leader was Prince Wheeler.Yet he did not care much for the title Prince, because he did not believe the power was a given but should be earned and chosen by the people. So Prince Wheeler and his people moved to the new unexplored continent of Yankeeland. And Wheeler was able to transform it into the most prosperous land in the world, even more than its southern neighbor Latinia. But instead of taking over the world, Prince Wheeler enlisted the help of the good people of other continents. He chose someone from each continent to protect him. From Latinia, Ma-Ti; from Afrika, Kwame; from Asia, Gi; and from Europa, Linka. Each one of them would protect Prince Wheeler from all harm of enemy countries, while at the same time keep friendly relations between their continents and Yankeeland. Kwame, Linka, Gi, and Ma-Ti loved being in Wheeler's court, especially Linka. From the moment she met him, she was completely fascinated with him. He was all that she dreamed of in a guy. But how could she even wish to love him? He was the Prince of Yankeeland and almost the whole world, and she was just a captain, as well as from Europa, which although friendly now, was the people that made Wheeler colonize Yankeeland. True, she was part of the nobility in Europa, but now she was Wheeler's captain. At times, it seemed to Linka that Wheeler felt the same way for her. Other times, he just treated her as friendly as he was to the other captains. They got along great, but they all knew Wheeler was the leader. Curious thing was that Wheeler was as lunatic as his captains. "He loves me, he loves me not," Linka said as she plucked the petals off a flower. "And who is this he?" Ma-Ti asked her, pretending to be innocent. He was not--he was the psychic boy who predicted any harm that might come in Wheeler's way. And no news could bypass him! "Uh, nobody," Linka said. "Linka, all you wish for will come true. He loves you too, whoever he is," Ma-Ti said smiling, always optimistic. "I don't think it is gunna happen. We are not equals." "With all your talents? If anyone would be getting the better deal it would be him. It is hard to find someone as high quality as you are," Ma-Ti said, still pretending he did not suspect who Linka dreamed of. "I hope so," Linka daydreamed. Ma-Ti left, but he turned his head to see Linka crying a bit. "For crying out loud, Linka, I think he loves you too," Ma-Ti thought. "His body language leaks of love for you." But now there was something Ma-Ti was not aware of. Kwame would tell him soon. "Hey, Ma-ti, we'd better start our search soon, " Kwame said as he ran to Ma-Ti, short of breath. "Search? For what?" "For the perfect woman. Wheeler just announced that he is looking for a wife." Ma-Ti's jaw dropped. "Do Gi and Linka know?" Ma-Ti asked innocently. "Yes, and they are in their search," Kwame said. "Are you sure?" Ma-Ti coaxed Kwame. Part 2 |
