Love Conquers All

Prologue

A young man sighed. He leaned onto the balcony railing that protected him from falling into the palace gardens 3 feet below.

*Eileene, my love…I wish you were here with me.* The young man thought, as he looked below into the gardens and saw the 53-odd colored roses that Kerovia was famous for-in fact the seeds were in demand all over the galaxies.

"Your highness, it is almost midnight…please get some sleep."

"I can’t. Midnight marks the dawn of Lady Eileene’s birthday."

Just then the clock chimed, announcing that it was midnight…and his love’s birthday.

"Happy 17th birthday my precious baby girl, wherever you are. Mark my words, I will find you. You and I will be together again."

"Prince Adairach, I beg you to come to bed…you need your rest. Her ladyship would not be pleased if she knew what you were up to."

Prince Adairach yawned and said, "Alright, I’ll go to bed."

Adairach began to hum ‘I Wanna Grow Old With You’ from the Wedding Singer. *I was born to make her happy and love her for all eternity.* he thought as his tired eyes closed.

His dream was about a birthday of Eileene’s that he had made memorable. Once for his girlfriend’s seventh birthday, he had searched those bushes for a perfect crimson rose. Alex, the garden-boy had shown him how to de-thorn it. After he was done thinning the thorns, he swiftly changed into his frog form and hopped to the village where Eileene lived.

Eileene saw a frog swimming toward her.

"Prince Adairach…my love, you will never learn will you?"

The prince transformed and said, "Nope."

He started shivering, for his frog form did not prevent him from becoming extremely wet.

"Oh, Adairach! You’re cold!! Let me get a blanket while you undress!"

Eileene said, running in to the house to get a blanket that she had made for these occasions.

Adairach gratefully took the blanket and wrapped himself in it. Eileene led him into the house and put her arms around the shivering prince.

"Adair, you cannot be coming out here without Beeves. It is too dangerous. What if I lost you, my love?"

"You won’t lose me, baby girl. We’ll be together forever." the prince said through chattering teeth.

"That would be nice. I love you, Adair."

"And I love you, baby girl." He replied.

Chapter 1: Earth, Final frontier

A soft mint-green colored frog sat on the topmost branch of a birch tree. This wasn't your ordinary tree frog. His wide ebony eyes swept the endless skies for a particular bald headed eagle with green eyes.

''So long as the love is strong and true, then the serene Frog and the vigilant baldheaded eagle are destined as timeless soulmates. Timeless soul mates, my butt. They don't cover the fact that if the vigilant baldheaded eagle moves away, the serene but insane frog goes to chase after the vigilant but crazy bird! '' The frog muttered in barely coherent English for the second time.

The day that Eileene had disappeared had been a very sad day, indeed…

Chapter 2: Memories

Prince Adairach Marcus Park stood impatiently in his royal chambers, waiting for Eileene to be brought to him. His last name, which was earthen, came from one of the planets in the Andromeda Galaxy Alliance.

(made up of an alliance of the planets Earth, Phaedos, Eltar, Edenoi, Mirinoi, Trifonia, and Aquatar.) It had been passed down through generations of his forefathers, starting with Marcus Park who was a very distant earthen ancestor of the Kerovian kings.

Marcus had discovered Kerovia, which was fighting a civil war and Marcus took the side of the "North" as he was a qualified general having won the American Civil War. Adairach’s face twisted down into a frown. Shaking his head, he tried to read a couple of the latest books his father had brought him from his last diplomatic mission to earth.

An impatient clearing of the throat came from Beeves, his personal servant. "Your highness, Lady Eileene is here to see you." "Thank you, Beeves. You are dismissed." Adairach said hastily. "Your highness…" "Please, call me Adairach, Eileene. I’m tired of hearing ‘Your highness.’ Besides, I love hearing you say my real name."

The prince looked weary. Eileene smiled sadly. "Adairach, I’m moving." "Moving? Why? Your parents know that we are destined to be married!" "They say the prophecy is all hogwash."

"Personally, I don’t feel that way… because not one boy has come close to making me feel the way you do when I’m in your arms. Adairach, I cried and I begged my parents to let me stay here, with you. Their minds are made up. I’ll never love any man the way I love you because the stars chose you as my companion." Adairach frowned.

"Allow me the last kiss, then." Adairach put his lips on hers. "Oh Adairach…" She moaned. "You’ll come back someday and we’ll finish what we started in our relationship." She ran a hand into his soft and silky multi-colored hair. "Well this is good-bye, then?" "I guess so, your highness."

A second tear rolled down frog-boy's cheek. Eileene was the only woman he would have as his queen. He had grown up with her. Their special relationship had been torn apart by her relentless parents. He had been robbed of celebrating her 16th, 17th and 18th birthdays respectively.

On her sixteenth birthday, he listened to 16 Candles by the Crests. That was an oldies but goodies song that he had promised he would sing to her on her sixteenth birthday. After Eileene's 16th birthday, he had requested permission to find her… "Father, I wish to go after Eileene."

"No, you are the crowned Prince of Kerovia. Your grandfather, Marcus Park, would be ashamed to know that his grandson was chasing a girl…" "Father! He'd be proud of me for pursuing what I believe in. I love her, she's the only girl on Kerovia who has shown me the love and compassion that I have in myself!"

"The galaxies beyond our own are dangerous, Adairach. I won't have my eldest son…" A ghost came into the room, unnoticed by the current King and Prince of Kerovia. "WHAT'S ALL THIS RACKET?" the ghost asked. "Grandfather?" Adairach said.

This was the ghost of Marcus Park, who continued to guide each king's successor. "I ASKED, WHAT'S ALL THIS RACKET?" the ghost asked folding his ghostly arms in resentment of being woken up.(And he hadn’t woken up since Adairach’s father’s coronation!)

"Your grandson here wants to risk his life in order to find Lady Eileene." King Alexander said. "Have someone go with him. In this case I will go." Both men looked dumbfounded at their grandfather's irrational idea.

"I know my way back to earth, even though I'm dead." "Grandfather, I'm not even sure if she's on earth." Adairach said. "Then we check every planet in between." He said. Adairach had to admit his grandfather was a genius. Eileene's signature read strong on Earth.

Adairach had set out with his grandfather and Andros. Eileen was his and damn the man who tried to make her his. A small group of frogs was watching him curiously. "Eileene…" The frog mumbled again in barely coherent English.

His soulmate had been torn from him by her relentless parents, and now he was doomed to search for her in his frog form until her kiss could set him free. He had searched dozens of planets for his girl…and failed.

He loved her more than any prized possession he owned on Kerovia, for she was his future queen. She would rule alongside him, and bear his children. He would have no other. Sighing from extreme boredom, the frog nimbly hopped off the branches.

He hopped around, and decided that this would be his residence, at least until he found Eileene and got her to kiss him. ‘Easier said than done’ his conscience reminded him. Just then his admirers had disappeared. A sound of monstrous footsteps appeared.

"Stupid parents...won't let me go and visit him. What if he dies? Hmm...there's always conning Aprildawn into me using one of her mind devices to change their minds. Nah..." the girl said.

"Maybe my usual game of Froggie catching will take my mind off him." she said as she looked for a frog. Adairach tried to make himself scarce, but the girl caught him in mid-hop. "Hmmmmm..." she said in a excited tone. Adairach gulped in his mind.

"Here I go, about to meet my death and I haven't found Eileene yet!" A pair of warm sapphire-blue eyes looked into his own. "Don’t worry, Froggie. I won’t hurt you…like those bad boys did the other day to another froggie. You’ll be a perfect pet for me! Once I get you cleaned up, my parents will just have to let me keep you!"

Oh well, it was better to be this girl’s beloved pet rather than to have his frog’s legs chopped off and served to rich snobs. "Hmm. Looks like you’re a boy Froggie, so I’m gonna name you Adam!" ‘Great I’m Adam, the pet frog.’ He thought.

She tucked him safely into the a Chinese takeout box filled with moist cotton balls. The box had been poked with holes so he could breathe. "We’re going to go to the pet store first, so I can get you a proper terrarium…my sister gave me some extra money for my birthday ." She said to the frog who was just beginning to relax inside the takeout box.

"Hello, Melissa. Have you found the frog?" "Yep." "Can I take a look at the little rascal?" "Yeah." Melissa handed the carton to the shopkeeper. "This one’s extremely rare, Melissa…are you sure you caught it in the wild? These kind of frogs are from Kerovia."

"Yes sir." Melissa respectfully replied. The store keeper smiled, then tucked the frog in as another customer came in. Melissa picked out a nice big castle-shaped terrarium for Adam to live in.

"Melissa, would you like heated rocks to go with this terrarium?" "Will they hurt him?" "Of course not. Being the exotic animal he is, he can’t stand cold terrariums like our frogs can. His flippers need to be kept constantly warm, unless he’s swimming."

"Okay." The shopkeeper measured the terrarium. "What color?" "Green and Black, please." She asked. "Here you go, Melissa. Oh, and this is on the house for managing to catch such an exotic animal."

He handed her a frog sized pool. "Thank you sir." She said. "You’re welcome, Melissa." He said as she walked out of the door. When they got home, Adair was glad.

Now he could spend some time getting to know his new owner. She scooped him out onto the bathroom counter and turned on the faucet. "Hmm…Cold water." She splashed it on him and Adair turned blue.

She scooped him out onto the bathroom counter and turned on the faucet. "Hmm…Cold water." She splashed it on him and Adair turned blue. "Okay…Lukewarm water." Adair turned blue again. "Warm water, then."

‘Oh god, Melissa looks similar to Eileene, right down to the graceful hands. Actually this feels gooooood!’ He thought. She pulled out a handtowel and gently patted him dry. She picked him up and carried him into her room.

She lay down and let the frog nestle on her chest, right above her heart. She gently scratched the top of his head.

Lovingly assured that this Melissa might be Eileene, he slowly hopped up to her neck and nestled there. Melissa fell asleep, keeping Adairach warm. An hour later Melissa awoke to a cold hand against her skin.

Aprildawn was trying to pick her beloved frog up. The frog protested loudly. "Aprildawn, Adam's getting airsick!" Aprildawn put the frog down. "That's Adairach."

"That's absolutely ridiculous, Aprildawn. I'd know if it was Adairach!" "His markings change every year that he grows, Melissa! Fine if you're so keen that this frog is not Adairach...I'll call Andy." Aprildawn got her cell phone out. A blonde teenage man appeared on the screen.

"Hey. Aprildawn...Whatssup?" "Andy, I need you to do us a small favor. You know you told me Adair took off?" "Yes." "Well, have you seen his markings for this year?" "Yeah..." "Is this frog Adairach?" "That's him. Melissa, how in the hell did you manage to catch him?"

"I just caught him in mid-hop." she said, lovingly stroking the frog. Adairach stared at Aprildawn before nestling up to Melissa's neck. "C'mere, my mischievous frog prince." she said, laughter filling her voice.

"I know how to remedy this." she said, kissing the frog's head. The frog hopped off the bed a moment too late. Adairach fell on to the floor at Melissa's feet. "All you had to do Eileene, was just simply kiss me."

"Damn it, My arms and legs are sore from dropping subtle hints!" "C'mere my handsome prince." she grumbled, grabbing the prince by his t-shirt and pulling him close.

Adair didn't resist to Eileene's astonishment, but just wrapped his muscled arms around Eileene and kissed her. When they pulled apart, Adair looked at her nervously. "Um…uh…Will you go out with me, Eileene?" "Yes."

Chapter 4: First Date

Eileene was very nervous as she hadn’t seen or heard from Adairach in over three years. On Thursday night, Eileene went shopping for a new dress.

*I know I can count on Adam to wear both black and green. Those are his signature colors. I want a dress that will flatter my figure.* she thought as she looked through the dresses.

She looked over the strapless gowns. *Hmmm. There are none here that will make Adairach’s jaw drop!*

"Um excuse me. Are you looking for a lilac or deep purple strapless gown?"

"Yes." Eileene replied.

"The purples are over there." The salesclerk pointed to them.

"Thank you." Eileene gratefully smiled at the clerk.

"You’re welcome. Just let me know if you need anymore help."

Eileene smiled, looked over there and found a beautiful shimmering deep purple dress set complete with shoes, hair ribbon, dress, a white dyable pair of shoes and a pair of shimmering purple gloves. The clerk that had helped her was at the register.

"Would you like those dyed to match the gown?" he asked, pointing at the shoes.

"Yes, please." Eileene replied, paying for her purchases.

On Saturday night, Eileene was so nervous as she waited on the couch for Adairach to show up. Just then the doorbell rang. Her heart beat wildly as she wondered if Adairach was at the door. She was wearing the dress that she had picked out, the white shoes were dyed a deep purple to match the gown. Her chestnut colored hair which was normally in a ponytail, was loose and curled to perfection. She fiddled with her gloves.

Her father came into their living room with Adairach in tow. He was wearing a green silk shirt, a black vest, and tight black pants.

"Now Adairach, I want her home at precisely 11:30."

"Yes, sir." Adairach replied as he helped Eileene into her wraps.

She looked at Adairach shyly.

"Well what do you want to do?…I’m open to just about anything." He said when they got outside.

"I'll do whatever you want to do Adairach."

"Dinner and a movie at my place?" he asked, with a smile on his face.

"Sure." She said. Adam started the car. They rode the rest of the way in silence.

When they got into his apartment, Adairach said, "How about leftover spaghetti and meatballs?"

"Sure." She said. He put his hair up before cooking.

"Adairach…where did you learn to cook?"

"Chef. Just in case I dismiss him. Highly unlikely, though. I like his cooking style. Did you know he was a chef here on earth before he came to work for the Kerovian royalty?"

"No!"

"Yes, he did. His earth specialties are tacos, Spaghetti and meatballs, Macaroni and cheese from scratch."

"Sounds delicious."

"I promised him I’d bring him a cook book from here. Since I like Earth food better." Eileene laughed.

Soon dinner was ready. Adairach and Eileene ate, and watched Grease 1 and 2.

"Oh Adairach, it's been so long."

"WAY too long." Adairach said in agreement, as he stroked her soft chestnut colored hair. "Now you tell me what the hell happened to your hair?"

"Dyed it. Wanted a change, you know."

Adairach began to cuddle up to her. She pulled him close. "Oh…Adair. I’ve always waited for this moment."

"So have I, darling." Eileene nodded and put her hands on Adairach’s head and began to chant.

"Olac, ne unal se koko… Olac, ne unal se kokoal…Olac, ne unal se kokoaki…" Adairach put his hands in hers and also chanted the same thing. Suddenly there was a black light and both began the process of mental bonding.

Adairach leaned his head forward to kiss Eileene. Eileene put her arms around his neck and passionately kissed him back. Lovingly, Adairach played with her hair while Eileene stroked the bulge in his shorts that had just formed.

A few hours later both lay next to each other, exhausted. "Adairach, what if I get pregnant?" "Your sister didn’t get pregnant so I’m assuming that it might be the same with you. I don’t think there’s ever been any one who got pregnant during the bonding process."

"You know she’s only my half sister and your brother was adopted." "We have to do this, the sooner the better, for the both of us." he said

Chapter 5: Life on Kerovia

Five Months Later.

Melissa walked in knocking Andros to the floor.

"Sorry Andy." She said quietly. Andy picked himself up.

"What’s up with you? Are you gaining weight or something?" Melissa ignored him and waited for Adam to get out of the bathroom.

"Adair, we need to talk." She said firmly so that he could hear.

"Uh, I’m a little busy at the moment. Aurora clogged the sink the last time she cut her hair. KAO!!!" he cried. "Ow, ow, owwww." He whimpered as he made his way to the door. "You uh, wanted to talk." The shoulder long haired young man said as he hopped on one foot.

"Oh wow, very smooth dear brother of mine."

"Andros, get the hell out!" Adam commanded. "This is my apartment!"

"Okay, okay!" Andros left the room.

"Yeah, I was just at the doctor’s a bit ago and umm…" she trailed off, unsure how to tell him.

"And what? Are you sick or something? Are you gonna die? Are you uhh…" his eyes strayed to her round belly. "Are you pregnant?"

"Ding, ding, ding!"

"You’re pregnant!!!" his eyes glimmered with pleasure. "When is it due?"

"In about four months, but I’m sure the baby would probably do best if we went back to Kerovia. Andros and Aurora haven’t tried to have a child, it would be your parents and my parent’s first grandchild. I haven’t told anyone else…"

"Well, Carlos could take over the task of the green turbo ranger and we could go to Kerovia and Eltar or anywhere else you think might be a good place to raise a kid. Do you know if it’s a boy or girl yet?"

"No, but I have a feeling it’s a boy." Adairach’s eyes grew brighter.

"A boy? A boy! God, I hope you’re right!"

"Well, all we can do is guess. I’m just going by gut and by a dream I had a couple nights ago…"

"You had a dream? Tell me about it!"

"Well, I was in a courtyard with a little black haired boy that looked like you, pushing him on a swing like the one by my mother’s house. He kept saying ‘Mommy, higher, higher, please, I wanna fly!’ and then you came right behind me and said ‘Let me, you need to rest.’ For some reason I think I was pregnant again in the dream. Then the sky got black and there were a lot of blurred images and I remember sitting by a small bed holding a washcloth to our son’s head. I think that was it though." Melissa said sitting down in an armchair. Adam gulped.

"Melissa, I swear I had a dream like that too. I have a feeling that it was more like a vision than a dream. I do have some Mage blood in me and you always did have strong telepathy. I think at least part of the dream will come true. I’m hoping it will be the good part. I think perhaps we ought to get to Kerovia as soon as possible." Just then, Adam’s communicator beeped. Alpha six said

"Ay yi yi, It’s time for the power switch."

"Well, I must say, he’s got good timing. I’ll have to compliment Billy on it."

"Be back soon."

"Okay. I love you." They kissed passionately and Adam disappeared in a flash of green.

An hour later:

Melissa could be found in the bedroom packing her things in a suitcase.

"Hey hon. I am now officially an ally of the power rangers and an ex- power ranger." She smiled.

"I was just thinking, we won’t need most of this stuff on Kerovia."

"Well, I was talking to the guys about moving and they said that they would gladly get rid of the stuff we don’t take for us as a going away present as long as they get invites to the baby shower."

"You told them."

"Hey, Billy was the one that asked why we were moving. I wanted to keep it a secret but he blabbed."

"I’m gonna kill him…"

"I’d rather you not while you’re with child." Adam said picking up his Karate Trophy and stuffing it in another suitcase. "I think the being on earth for most of my young life story will be interesting to tell to our son."

"Yeah, and how mommy had to save you." Melissa said playfully.

"Hey, if you had been the one on earth, I’m sure you would have been in the same condition. They say the longer the distance from Kerovia, the more painful it is when it first strikes."

"I know. But I’m the hero in the story all the same. If it weren’t for me, we wouldn’t be having this kid and you would be dead."

"Okay. Fair enough." Adam pulled Melissa into a tight embrace. "I love you so much…"

"Ahem!" Melissa said, pointing to her belly.

"Whoops, I love the both of you sooooo much if I lost either one of you, I would go insane and kill myself. Is that any better?"

"Well, we wouldn’t want you to kill yourself." Melissa said as the baby kicked again in agreement with her. "I think Junior wants to get going. Andros and Aurora said they’d take us there themselves."

"Oh no, I hope Aurora isn’t going to cater to us."

"It’s okay, we decided to take a weeks worth of McDonald’s Burgers with us. Although that’s only for you, I’m going to be eating her cooking, I want our child to get a taste of life in space as soon as possible, besides, we won’t have access to earthen cooking on Kerovia or anywhere else out there so you’ll have to eat regular Kerovian dishes back home."

"Kao… I was hoping we could start the first intergalactic McDonalds." Adam whined. Just then a vision hit him.

************************************

"Father, why can’t we stay on Kerovia? I like it there."

"The war is coming too close to home. I don’t want to get caught in the middle of it. You’ll like earth. I have lots of friends there that have kids close to your age."

"But I wanna stay on Kerovia with Mommy." Said a little girl with dark chestnut hair.

"Lenai, don’t argue with your father. I’m going with you to earth too."

"But Earth is boring!"

"Momma, I don’t feel well." Said an older boy that looked like Adam.

"Come here, you’re just getting space sickness." Said Eileene as she pulled the boy into her arms as his face turned a sickly green.

************************************

"Adam, are you okay?" Adam blinked several times.

"Yeah, I’m fine." He said turning away from Melissa. "I just zoned out, that’s all."

"Are you having second thoughts about moving back home?"

"No, I just had this vision. We were with two kids, a boy and a little girl and we were on a ship to Earth. The little boy looked like me and was space sick and the little girl was complaining about moving. When she complained I told her that we had to move away from the war and you were holding the boy."

"Maybe we should stay then."

"No, I think we should go to Kerovia and let our kids get the best of it while they still can unless you want to stay. It’s your decision." Adam said rubbing his hands on her belly. "Hey, I think he wants to go to Kerovia. He’s kicking at my hands."

"Or he wants you to stop tickling me. I can barely keep from laughing."

"Am I really tickling you?"

"Yes. Ahhh" she squirmed out of his grasp. "Let’s get packed."

************************************

"Well, We’ll send you guys invites as soon as possible, okay!"

"Sure, see ya, get going now! No time like the present to get the baby to Kerovia!" said Carlos as Melissa, Adam, Aprildawn, and Andros, all entered the megaship.

"Adair, do you think we did the right thing?"

"Of course, Eileene. I can’t wait to tell my parents and your parents, and my sister and Zhane." He held Eileene close, so close he could feel the baby’s every stirring. "Am I tickling you now?"

"No, I kinda like this, but I think Adairach junior doesn’t like space travel all that much."

"Well, maybe he’ll be easy to get space sickness. Just like Zhane and myself."

"You get Space sickness?"

"When I was little I did. That’s why when I left for Earth, I didn’t come to visit. The long trip there was enough to nearly kill me.

"I see. I really hope you don’t get sick on our way to Kerovia."

"Nah, I won’t, I got used to the way space travel feels when I became a power ranger."

"Welcome home, my son. I should have known finding Eileene would bring you back here." King Alexander said to his youngest son.

Eileene stood behind Adairach while rubbing her 6 month pregnant belly to tell their son to be patient. "Eileene, you’ve changed since I’ve seen you last. Come, stand right by Adairach so I can see you."

Eileene stepped forward. "My god, what happened to you? You look like a-" "Father, Eileene and I are expecting our first child, your first grandson." Adair interrupted as he put an arm around the back of Eileene’s swollen waist.

"Oh…That’s wonderful Adairach. I’m going to be a grandfather!" he exclaimed.

Later Adair rubbed Eileene’s huge belly. "Mmmm. Adair, that feels so marvelous." She said as Adair rubbed where her pregnant swelling had ended.

He kissed her belly to let their son know this wasn’t just Daddy and Mommy time, that he was being included in their fun. He rested his head against her big ballooning tummy, and felt his son kick his mother’s uterine walls.

"He wants out." Observed Adair with a small laugh at his son’s behavior. "Or he wants you to keep your head off my belly. That’s what he’s thinking." He repositioned his head so that his ear could listen to his son’s steady heartbeat.

"I love you two so much." Adair declared, kissing Eileene’s belly affectionately.

"We love you too, Adairach." Eileen mumbled into his multi colored hair.

Chapter 6: Reprimands and Jokes

Five Years Later:

"Momma, I wanna nap. I’m tired." Said a small boy as he clung onto his mother’s skirt. Eileene picked her son up.

"Alright, I guess it is a little later than I thought." She said, looking at her watch. The small boy was lighter than the biggest bag of Dog food that you could get at the intergalactic marketplace.

"Can we go home?"

"In a minute hon, we have to get the steaks for daddy’s special dinner."

"Why does daddy have to have a special dinner? I thought he liked all our dinners."

"Because it’s daddy’s birthday."

"Daddy says everyday is his birthday."

"That’s just because he thinks of you and me as his birthday presents because he loves us sooooo much. The reason we make such a special dinner for daddy’s birthday is because a loooong time ago he used to live on a planet called Earth and he really liked the food there."

"I don’t like Earth food."

"Yes you do, AJ. Remember your birthday?"

"Yeah."

"Remember the cake I made?"

"Uh huh, it had frogs on it."

"They make those kind of cakes on earth."

"Yeah and Daddy ate half of it."

"Your Daddy was just trying to be a big goofball, He got sick afterwards." Eileene paid for the steaks and laughed at the memory of Adairach Sr. eating half the cake. "This time you get to be goofball and eat daddy’s cake."

"Yeah! And may I throw it in his face?"

"AJ, that is not princely behavior."

"But daddy didn’t act like a king when he ate half of my cake and squashed my face in the other half. I got frosting up my ears and nose that time."

"Well, I suppose, just surprise him with it after he blows out all the candles, we don’t want him to get burned."

"Yes, Mommy." The duo walked up to the castle. The guard, Beeves, was standing at the entrance. He winked at the young prince. "What was that for, Beeves?" asked AJ.

"Your highness, your father was just as ill behaved as you are, in fact, I remember him running around throwing cake at his elder brother."

"Uncle Andros deserved it. He was too big headed whenever he went on his galaxy glider."

"Adairach Marcus Park Junior, respect your elders."

"Yes Mommy." Replied AJ as he slowly walked inside. Beeves smiled at Eileene.

"You were just as Ill behaved as his royal highness was at his age."

"Beeves, you’ll never change. No wonder my husband never dismissed you."

"Well, Madam, it was always I, that ran after him when he would go AWOL and I’m sure that will be the case with young Adairach Jr. when he builds up on his strength. I often feel he was kept inside far too long during the drought. I believe I should let you go speak to your husband now; he has been waiting for about an hour."

"Of course." Eileene headed into the castle and handed the steaks to chef.

"Your highness…it would make the kitchen staff and I more happy if you would just stay here and let us do all the shopping." Queen Eileene smiled.

"Allright."

"Adairach, pay attention. I cannot teach you unless you sit still and listen to me." Snapped a very severe looking woman.

"I wanna go play in the courtyard. I’ll do my lessons later." Said a small Asian looking boy, squirming in his seat.

"Your father requested that I allow you to go and play after we finish your Mathematics lesson. If you don’t sit still…"

"It’s almost lunchtime, Momma wants me to go and eat in the courtyard with her."

"Your mother will come get you when it is time to eat. Now sit still for once and pay attention." The little boy turned to his mathematics book and grumbled in protest. He had only started his lessons at the beginning of the week and they were already boring his little highness. "Now, turn to chapter two, we are going to work on subtraction."

"I already know how to do subtraction. My father taught it to me when I was really little."

"Then it will be review for you."

"I don’t want to do review."

"You will do it anyway unless you would rather take the chapter test."

"Fine, I’ll do the test."

"Adairach, you know very well you aren’t ready for the chapter test."

"I am ready. I already told you, I know how to add and subtract, you’re wasting your time going over it with me. You might as well start on the Multiplication unit. I’m bored with your lessons. You’re making me go over things I already know. I’m not as little and stupid as you want me to be."

"Prince Adairach, do you really think your mother and father would approve of your behavior? I think I will be discussing your outrageous behavior with them when the day is over. I do not have the chapter test ready yet so your homework will be pages 20 through 22. That’s three pages of work you’ll have to have turned into me on Monday morning. You are dismissed." Said the teacher as she prepared to leave for the day.

"Yes Madam." A loud knock sounded at the door of the library.

"Yes?" The door opened and a boy a few Kerovian years older than Prince Adairach walked in.

"Er, at the Queen’s request, I am to er, take the young Prince Adairach to the court yard for brunch."

"Alacra, you expect me to believe that Queen Eileene wants you to walk Adairach to the courtyard when he can do it on his own. You should be in lessons too. I shall be speaking to your family about this matter. Adairach, I believe your mother is waiting."

"Yes Madam." Prince Adairach picked up his bag and left with Alacra.

"So, is she that horrible a teacher?"

"Oh yes, she doesn’t understand me one bit. She says she is going to speak to my mother and father about me. I can’t stand her." Adairach shifted the weight of his book bag to the other side.

"Here, let me hold your bag. You shouldn’t have to carry such a heavy thing. My cousin lives on Eltar and uses an E-Library. It has all his course books on it and it’s only an inch thick and less than a pound heavy. They ought to use them here."

"Madam doesn’t believe in using them, she says that they make little boys into lazy slackers that don’t work. My father was going to pay for all of us to have one too but when she told him that he decided not to. Anyway thanks for carrying it. I had to drag it up the stair this morn."

"I could help you in the morn too Adair. I have mornings free, and if my father sends me to her I can come extra early to your room and help you."

"Well, you’ve got to think, then you would have your own bag of heavy books to carry up the stair. It would be too much."

"No it wouldn’t. I can carry five bags like these no problem."

"No. I think I’ll carry my bag from here. I want my mother to think I’m at least making an effort."

"But… Fine, I was only trying to help you know."

"I know and I appreciate it too. I just want to make a good impression."

"Okay. Lets race to the white tree."

"Are you mad, I have this heavy bag to carry."

"Well, you are usually faster than me. It won’t slow you down much."

"You’re on!" Both boy’s sprinted through the stone passages to the white tree in the center of the courtyard. Queen Eileene was waiting with a basket of freshly cooked food.

"Adairach, you ought to slow down." She said as her young son made it to the tree first.

"I told you it wouldn’t slow you down much. Hello Queen Eileene, you will see I did as you requested."

"Thank you, would you like to join us, Alacra?"

"No thank you, Madam. My own mother is expecting me for luncheon. She doesn’t like me to be late and I would hate to let her think I don’t like her cooking."

"I understand. You go on now."

"Yes Madam." Alacra said as he walked off.

"Mother, why did father hire Madame Corosant?"

"Because she is a very good teacher. She once taught on Serona before the war started."

"I don’t like her. She makes me go over things I already know."

"Like what?"

"Addition and Subtraction. She told me that I would have to do it or we would not begin the Multiplication unit. I told her yesterday that I already knew that stuff and I told her again today."

"Well, I will speak to your father tonight and see if we cannot persuade her begin using E-Libraries and give you an assessment to see what she needs to work on with you. I cannot promise anything but I will try. Knowing your father, he may consider hiring another teacher for you instead, one that uses the E-Library and can adjust their teaching style to fit your learning style."

"Ok, How is Dad doing anyway? Is he back yet?" Adairach asked as he sat down on the soft blanket that lay on the grass.

"Oh he’s back. He and your uncle are busy discussing something in the throne room at the moment. Have some cake, your father brought it from Earth."

"Dad went to earth? I thought that he was going to Eltar and Trifonia."

"He had to go to all three. Earth was just a short stop for him. He needed to get back in touch with some old friends. Besides, I have two surprises for you. Your father wanted me to have a vacation with you."

"What is it, Mother? Tell me please!" Adairach had a pleading puppy dog look on his face.

"The thing is Adairach, Your father and I tried to consider you when this happened. One, we are going on a very long vacation at the end of the year to Earth, the second is that I am pregnant."

"You’re going to have another baby? I thought Lenai was going to be my only baby sister or brother." Adairach got a concerned look on his face.

"Your father and I were sitting on the balcony above your room when we were thirteen. We had a small argument about how many children we would have when we married. In the end, we decided that three was a good number and would match with your father’s siblings. You know uncle Andros and aunt Cecelia." Eileene stopped as Adairach’s teacher walked up.

"Your Highness, you should be aware of your son’s outrageous behavior in the classroom."

"Yes I am aware of his behavior, but I am also willing to consider the fact that you are an incompetent instructor. In the event, my husband has instructed me to do what I feel is necessary for my son’s education. I understand that it is hard to find quality instructors at this moment, but my son already has expert skill in mathematics up to Geometry, at least that is what he has been tested to. His reading skills most likely surpass your own and if he were of age, you would be the one sitting down at a table listening to him lecture you. I advise you abandon your usual custom of forcing students to go by what you want to teach and to let them show you what they can do first. On earth, when students show boredom with the subject matter, one of the first things the instructors do is assess the student’s skills to see if it is a matter of the student being beyond the level that they are teaching. Also, my husband has control of what you teach, if you cannot fill your post as ordered, you will be fired and another instructor, more suited to my son’s needs, will be hired."

"Your Highness, his majesty is on a trip. He has instructed me to carry on with what I normally teach."

"My husband is back and he will hear of this matter as well as the matter of the books you assigned being far too heavy for my son to carry. You may be ordered to begin using E-Libraries or to leave your post. Also, the manner in which you speak to my son in class is appalling. As Queen, I have power to assign members of the court to join my son in his classes and keep you in check. Beeves has told me that he has heard you raising your voice at my son, and that he has heard you refer to him by names other than ‘your majesty’. Do not forget that he is royalty. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, your highness. I would only like to express my opinion that your son is a bit unnatural. He has not demonstrated the ability to sit still for more than a short period of five minutes in class."

"I see, next year you will be teaching Lenai, I suggest that you get used to my son’s inability to sit still and perhaps use the fact as an opportunity to adjust your teaching style. My daughter is also very exuberant." Eileene looked severely at the instructor, who was shaking in her shoes.

"Mother, does that mean that Lenai will be studying with me?"

"I don’t know, it all depends on how Madame Corosant will be able to manage, if she ever manages to stay on."

"Fat chance." Adairach muttered under his breath. His gaze fell onto Beeves.

"Your Majesty, should I take the young prince to his wing?"

"Yes, Beeves. And would you inform my husband that I require his presence in classroom. I believe he should speak with Adairach’s instructor before he sits for supper."

"Yes, your Majesty." Adairach followed Beeves back to the castle.

************************************

"Your Highness, I have deep sympathy for you. Keep giving her hell."

"Why?"

"She is the worst instructor one could ever have at such a tender age. Your uncle Andros had her for about a year."

"Ooohh, Uncle Andros can give me tips on how to get rid of her."

"I highly doubt that, she was fired after he fell ill. Shall I ask him to come to your quarters?"

"Yes, thank you Beeves. I have a feeling she’s going to be taking a loooong vacation. Say, what did my uncle get sick with?"

"Ahh, if I remember correctly, it was a bad bout of Eltarian Fever. I believe what made her leave was the day he regurgitated all over her."

"Eww. D’ya know where I can get samples of the germs."

"Ahh, give your uncle Andros a chance to get her angry. Just let her figure out that it’s him."

"Thank you, Beeves. I will be in the royal playroom for the next hour. I should like to speak to my uncle within that time frame."

"I will be conveying your mother’s message as well as your own as soon as I can."

"You hired that Bitch!" Andros shouted at his younger brother.

"She was the only one I could find."

"Adair, you know what she did to me!" Andros screamed hysterically. Beeves poked his head in through the chamber doors.

"Your Highness, your wife requires your presence in the classroom."

"Beeves! Is there something wrong?" King Adairach asked, cocking his head to the side in curiosity.

"She believes you should speak with the instructor about Prince Adairach’s education. Prince Adairach also requires your presence, Prince Andros. He is waiting in the royal playroom."

"I wonder what this is all about, little bro." Andros said playfully.

"Oh would you shut your pie hole. In the name of Zordon!"

"Yes my butt ugly liege."

"Andros!" the king began to raise his voice. Beeves cleared his throat.

"The two of you will never change, will you, my Highnesses?" he asked the two royal pain in the butts that he had chased after when they had been very young.

"Nope! And you’re too old, Beeves. It’s a wonder why my brother keeps you on." Andros said with a goofy grin.

"I think it is a matter of experience. I have watched after three generations of Kerovian royalty and it seems to me that all Astro’s are very energetic throughout life."

"Damn, I thought it was because he took pity on you for being all crooked in the joints." Andros cursed aloud.

"Well, I suggest the two of you see to your duties."

"Of course Beeves, we’ll be on our way."

************************************

Adairach paced the room as he waited for his dear uncle to arrive. A soft knock at the door made Adairach nearly skyrocket.

"Adairach, Beeves said you wanted to see me?"

"Yes, yes, come in and sit down. I understand that for a short time, Madam Corosant was your governess. I want to know how you made her leave."

"Hmm, well I see you can’t stand her either. Well, I got sick with Eltarian Fever and she kept giving me a headache even after my father ordered everyone in the castle to not talk around me because every little whispered syllable hurt my head. Hell, at times I swear that I could hear people’s thoughts. So Madame Corosant kept insisting that she be allowed to teach me all the while. I may have had energy but I felt like crap and I couldn’t even think straight." Andros paused and looked seriously at Adairach.

"Just tell me what I have to do to make her leave."

"Okay, she was lecturing me on… I don’t remember what she was lecturing me on but I told her I needed to go to the restroom really bad and she refused to let me leave in the middle of the lesson."

"I was hoping you might be able to accompany me to my next session with her, tomorrow morning." Andros’s face turned a violent shade of green. "I would like you to observe and occasionally piss her off. She’s already refused to teach me at an appropriate level and I’d like to have someone to keep her in check "

"Uhh, well… Can’t Alacra do that? I mean, he is closer to your age and you mother and father would probably allow him to tell her off…"

"I need someone with experience, uncle Andros."

"To tell her the truth, I didn’t mean to do it but I had no other choice… I had to spew and she was in my way. I accidentally puked all over her new dress and she got all mad and left. I never meant to do it even though I was much happier when father hired a much nicer governess for me and your father."

"Please!"

"Alright, How can I refuse my favorite nephew?"

"I’m your only nephew."

"No you’re not, there’s your aunt Cecelia’s son. I think his name is… Darin."

"How come aunt Cecelia never visits?"

"She lives on Phaedos, I think she and your father didn’t agree with something. I was thinking of getting her to come here and see you and your sister."

************************************

"Hello, Your Highness. Who has your mother sent with you today."

"You’ll see, Madame Croissant."

"Now where did you hear that one? Your father?"

"Nope. Now may I introduce my escort for the day." Andros walked in making a sick looking face.

"And you are?" Madam Corosant asked.

"Hello Madame Croissant with sour milk."

"Andros, how… pleasant to… see you." The woman’s face turned sallow at the sight of Andros’s smirk."

"My sister in law has ordered me to accompany the young prince and to keep your behavior towards him in check. As a precaution, Beeves is waiting in the hall. I am aware that both the Queen and the King have spoken to you regarding the Prince’s education and have ordered you to teach him at his level rather than the usual, this is what’s on the schedule babble." The teacher forced a smile.

"Yes, but I am afraid that it will take about a week until the new supplies arrive."

"Alright, free day! I’ll go get my chemistry set and we can make explosives."

"No you don’t, lets go for a joy ride on the Mega ship. It might be educational for Madame Croissant if she wants to accompany us."

"Ahem, Instead of the usual lesson plan, I will be assessing your skills, your highness."

"I already had my skills assessed when I was three."

"Your levels may have gone up, your Highness."
