This web site is devoted to the principles and practices involved in the Flaring of gases on an industrial scale.
These are relatively few and simple, but are often considered to be complex because of the potentially disastrous consequences of misinterpretation.
The site contains a series of technical reference pages intended to help to de-mystify these issues for
engineers and operators and, hopefully, will act as a learning tool and assist in the general understanding of the issues surrounding the use of Gas Flares.
The information given on this site is intended to supplement standard Industry Publications where they
exist, rather than to replace them and, at least for the time being, formulated procedures within other publications are referenced only and not repeated on the
site.
All of this information is based on a background in the industry going back to 1965. However, this site
has no commercial ties with any manufacturer or supplier of Flare Equipment and attempts to treat all problems from a technical viewpoint, independently and
professionally, regardless of commercial implications.
If you have a specific concern which is not addressed in the listings,
check out the faq page or drop me an e-mail with your question.
If I can, once I get the site up and running properly, I will post a new topic or include the response in future faqs.
If you catch any glaring errors in these pages, I'd really like you to let me know so that I can make a
correction. I want to keep to the highest standards that I can and any knowledgeable input is welcomed.
Alternatively, call or e-mail me for assistance with your specific flaring concerns.
Just to be on the safe side however, check out the usage terms for the site.
Development of the site is ongoing and I hope that you will excuse any current incompleteness.
Proposed links which are still inactive are, generally, shown in gray.
Thanks for your interest.
