  Biography     This site offers quick and dirty biographies of seveal thousand historically significant people.  Not sure who someone I mention in class was?  Textbook less than helpful about that?  This is the place to go. 

The Boston MassacreThe History Place - American Revolution   This site provides timelines for the whole period  from the colonial period through the Revolution.  Confused or unsure about the order in which important events occurred?  This site can provide quick answers.

   Columbus Page This site provides background history on Columbus, his explorations, the impact of his voyages on Native Americans and the subsequent arrival and conquest by European nations.

Image: a map   World Timelines  On this site, you can find historical timeleines for the whole world and for all historical periods. Useful especially for finding out what was happening in several different nations at the same time.  

History Channel    A very useful site. Search by period or keyword for all periods of History, world and American.  Informational articles contain embeded links for dozens and dozens of other history sites releated to the topics you look up on this page.  And yes, it will tell you about what will appear on the History Channel if you absolutely have to approach history via a video screen instead of a page.
