17/12/2001: Conwy

Heading up to Conwy, we passed through Llangollen.
The Pontcysylite Aqueduct is over 300m long and 40m high, its 18 arches
cary the Llangollen Canal across the valley.

The aqueduct seen from the valley floor

We were lucky enough to see a canal boat crossing the aqueduct
(notice the absence of a safety rail!)

Conwy Castle in North Wales
Conwy is a walled city (see photo below), built around 1200
(must check the details)

The view from the tower
(Sheila - she of the "no head for heights" elected to not climb the tower)

You've got to watch the small gates when driving

The smallest house in Britain!
