Return rail tickets would have cost us 36 pounds - around $110 Australian. On a Sunday in Sydney it would cost less than $15 to do a similar trip! ![]() First stop, Buck' House That's the Queen Victoria monument in the foreground ![]() A set of gates like this would set off our house nicely ![]() We then walked across St James park, to hear Big Ben strike twelve ![]() Then up the road to Trafalgar Square ![]() Puss, puss... Whiskas!! ![]() Followed up with a bi' o' cultcha at the Art Gallery The tree is an annual gift from Norway to say thanks for Britain's help during the war. They've been giving a tree since 1947 ![]() Pigeon Pie anyone? (I felt like an extra in an Alfred Hitchcock movie - being swooped by 10,000 pigeons is unnerving) A short Tube ride to the other end of the city, as Patrick wanted to see the Tower Bridge ![]() Coming out of the station, we came upon the Tower of London ![]() ![]() As you walk around to the front of the Tower, you come upon Tower Bridge Sheila and Hannah decided that they wanted to see the Tower, but Pat decided he wanted to do the tour of the bridge. (ie. No more photos of the Tower) The Bridge tour takes you up and down both towers, and through the walkways between the two You then head down to see the original engine rooms ![]() Tower Bridge ![]() The view from near the top of the South Tower ![]() The view from the walkway (Check the weird building to the left - The new 'Thames River Authority' building from recollection) |
