13/01/2002: Penang

We went to our family friend's house, before driving an hour north to attend
the opening of an art exhibition at a gallery that he's on the board of.
(Koay Soo Kau is one of Malaysia's premier artists)

Before that though, it was time for an art lesson!

No chance to take photos at the opening. We listened to long speeches in Chinese,
and then one in English where the Australian guests where thanked for their attendance!
(Then we had to stand with the group for the official photos)
