Lord Kilden Biography:

To the right, is a hand drawn portrait of Lord Kilden.
As Lord Kilden, Regent of the Human Settlements, he traditionnaly wears dark blue robes and a gold-embroidered cape.
As High Wizard Kilden however, he is usually garbed in dark red robes and a white cape.

The coat of arms is the one of House Kilden - and also the real life coat of arms of my family.
Physical Appearance:
Kilden is relatively small for a human; a 5'10 tall frame holds 160 lbs of flesh, organs, muscle and, well, fat. In compensation for his average strength and dexterity, he is quite intelligent an charismatic and quite wise for his still young age; 25.

Character History:
When they crossed the portal from earth, led by Lord Bryton Rowann, Lord Garrat Kilden senior brought his wife, Lady Lana Kilden who was pregnant at the time, with him. Lady Kilden gave birth to her first son, Garrat Kilden junior a few months later, in an improvised shelter built by the first human settlers of Semidon.

Lord Kilden Sr was Lord Rowann's general, and lead the human army in scouting expeditions throughout Semidon and defended the then very fragile settlements with his faithful second in command, Lord Vico Reynolt.
Garrat Kilden Jr grew up relatively sheltered. When she saw her son had little affinity for swords and fighting, she asked High Wizard Nyklas, founder of the Arcane Tower, to take young Kilden under his wing and teach him magic. A few years later, Lady Lana Kilden died in childbirth.

Many years later, when he was seventeen, Lord Kilden's father, was slain by Cattins in what was supposed to be a routine scouting expedition ( see "Seven Years Ago" thread). Less than a week afterwards, he became Lady Rowann's advisor after Lord Rowann's abrupt disappearance, while Lord Vico Reynolt replaced Lord Kilden Sr as general of the Human Settlements.
For many years, peace mostly reigned in the Settlements. With her inclinations toward peace, Lady Rowann favored Kilden's counsil against Reynolt's warmongering. Many treaties were signed with neighboring races, most notably a treaty of fishing rights with the Myrwen which allowed the Human Settlements to create the Shatterstone Cove colony. Meanwhile, Lord Kilden and lord Reynolt formed a strange yet strong bond of friendship and respect through their conflicting ideals.

This peace laste no more than seven years thought, when Lady Rowann was poisonned in an expetidion to the Drakken mountains ( "Omen Summary" thread ). She was no longer able to lead the Settlements, and regency was up for grabs. While Lord Vico finally had the freedom and power he needed to launch his attacks on the Cattins and Vampiri, Kilden officially became the Regent of Human Settlements and had no choice but to declare his rival and outlaw. The Settlements split in two distinct factions until Vico was finally defeated. Supporters of Lord Reynolt joined their leader and went into hiding somewhere in Semidon.

Unfortunately, Lord Kilden's regency was to be a short one. After a few weeks, he mysteriously disappeared only to resurface a year later ( see "The Return of Kilden" thread ). He was then elected to replace Nyklas as the High Wizard of the Arcane Tower, while officially, the regency of the Human Settlement remains vacant, all the colonies (blocks) autonomously led by individuals or groups.

Now High Wizard of the Arcane Tower, Kilden still believes in a peaceful, united and multicultural Semidon, and finds a lot of enemies in those who aim for the supremacy of one race or another. He's always been straightforward with others, for in his view, a cloak of mystery is naught but a veil to conceal deceit and an obstacle to truth. A man of his word, Kilden has yet to break a promise. But that could be what leads to his downfall; as Lord Vico Reynolt seeks his support and help from his hidden lairs, could a possible ancien promise force Kilden to betray his beliefs and join the other side?
