Henry

The Old Buzzard

This was Henry. He was a stray that turned up at the front door in desperate need of a friend.   Luckily he found one in the nick of time. He was literally skin and bone and knotted up fur. His vision wasn't very good but it was enough for him to get around without a problem. He could hear fine when there was a can of food involved but otherwise didn't hear much. His kidneys were weak but with a weekly shot of fluids he did fine. The vet gave him the nickname of the Old Buzzard.

When Henry first arrived he was extremely loud and would howl at night which got him banned to the laundry room. He did have one more adventure when he managed to push a screen out and jumped or fell outside. He only had a minor injury which left him with a slight limp. Or did it? After weeks of limping it turned out he was faking it. He only limped when he knew someone was watching. Eventually Henry settled down to the pampered life of an indoor cat with Egbert who accepted him into the household without a fuss.

Henry caused a bit of excitement for Thanksgiving. The cover on the defrosting turkey was not put back right which left the turkey leg exposed. This led to a frantic call with the message "Your cat is eating the turkey. I put it in the microwave!"  The response was, "What? The cat or the Turkey?" It was the turkey.

Henry was a gentle cat even after his rough life in the outdoors. He loved to be petted and to purr and especially to eat. He chewed through a purse because he smelled food.
