What's the Difference between the State National Guard & a Militia group? Well in the Webster's dictionary it says, "The organized militia in each State: It can be activated into the U.S. Army." |
But Thomas Jefferson said, "A group of citizens that provide their own weapons. And do their own training. Also can be called up by the local and State government. |
Well the National Guard don't supply their weapons, and they don't train themselves. They can be called up by State and Federal government. They also can serve overseas during wartime. |
So it seems to us, that the National Guard can not be a militia. And the elected officials can not deny citizens the right to form a militia. But interpret this for yourself. |
