2. A different goal in mind

When I had my idea about the poor man Tripwire, I was pretty sure it would work right on the first time, since the concept is fairly simple after all. But I knew that I couldn't write about such a setup without building one in the first place, or else the project wouldn't have been serious. And as with many experiments, I encountered some unexpected results. It worked all right, maybe a little too well. In fact, it did the job right, but the sole fact of Windows running showed that it can leave quite a trace when submitted to this kind of observation. In fact, I was quite surprised because it revealed information that could be used to identify me. So I thought, what if someone had something else in mind instead of software installs?
