Chapter 3

Sex is a fact of life.  Many people who are drawn to Tantra are looking for a way to integrate sexuality and spirituality.  Perhaps the most important thing to realize at the onset of this particular exploration is that sex and spirituality are not and never have been disintegrated.  Our perceptions are compartmentalized.

Integrating sexuality and spirituality is a matter of realizing that they are already integrated and whole.  You are already integrated and whole.  It is all a matter of perception.

Life and how you are living it are two different things.  Sex carries the force of life.  The force of life is the most powerful gift we have been given.  Life force is the circle of life.  The universe is contained within it.  That is why conscious awareness and exercise of life force energy is paramount in determining the manifestation of your experience as a sensual and spiritual being.

Without spirit, there is no perception of sensual experience.  Without sensual experience there is nothing for spirit to perceive.  Of course, spirit excels at creating something out of nothing.  Nothingness motivates the desire for “somethingness” from spirit.  Desire is born from inspiration for something brought on by the experience of nothingness.

Nothingness isn’t emptiness. It is the unknown.  It is “I want something but I don’t know what it is.”  It is that which already is but is unknown to the perceiver.  It is that which has yet to be explored or known.  Even emptiness is something, because it can only be experienced through perception, which fills it by perceiving it.

Stillness can only be perceived by motion.  Does stillness enter the mind or does the mind enter stillness?  The answer lies in defining experience beyond the boundaries of perceived dichotomies.

The knower is also known in the experience of perceiving the unknown.  The knower is unknown to the unknown. The process of integrating the experience of knowing from the known to the unknown gives birth to understanding.  Understanding is the synthesis of knowledge and experience.

There are four common fields of perception.  There is what you know, what you know you don’t know, what you don’t know you don’t know, and what you don’t know that you already know.  No wonder we’re frequently confused.

What you know is active and static.  In other words, the wheels are set in motion, and yet, because you are aware of your awareness, there is nothing you are unaware of to challenge what you are aware of.

What you know you don’t know is also active and static.  It defines your perceived limitations.  There is a certain comfort in limitation, because limitations don’t challenge you to be any more than you already are.

What you don’t know you don’t know is a challenge to the assets and deficits defined by the two former categories of knowledge.  It is a fascinating paradox.  Not knowing what you are unaware of allows an amazing amount of activity to occur from within you.  This is where the self hides from the self.  If I don’t realize that I am acting out of ignorance, then my ignorance can run amok.  A highly active void occurs at this level.  This is the field of unconscious motivations.

What you don’t know that you already know is the realm of possibility and potential.  If we are born as an empty slate, this is the slate to be written on.  A blank canvas has the potential for infinite possibilities.

We are timeless.  The force of life is within us.  How we express the force of life is a matter of free will.  Conscious and unconscious forces from within us drive our expression of free will.

If we explore the unknown from within, we will expand our awareness and create our reality from a greater consciousness of who we are.

The universe is inside of each one of us.  There is an infinite variety of what we don’t know we already know to be discovered and expressed uniquely through each one of us.  That is the act of creation.  That is the force of life as it has been invested within us.

Sex is a fact of life. It is not the facts of life.  The facts of life run deeper than the birds and the bees, but the birds and the bees are invested with the same infinite life force as we are.

Exploring and understanding what we are sexually and spiritually are not separate pursuits.  We are whole beings.  Spirit and flesh are flip sides of the same coin.  This coin is a circle. It has no beginning and no end.  Which end is up depends on where it lands if you flip it.

The coin is not divided.   If it were divided, there would be two coins instead of one.  If you want two coins, invest this one carefully.  Don’t squander it. Don’t burry it. Invest it carefully.

You are the key.  You are the lock.  Only you can choose to look inside to discover your wholeness and to expand your awareness of all that is as it has been invested within you.

Life is a precious gift.  Sex is a part of life.

We are all spiritual people, because we are all invested with a spirit. Whether or not we are aware of are spirituality is an entirely different matter.  We are all sensual beings, because we are all gifted with physical bodies and sense perceptions.  Whether or not we are aware of our sensuality is a matter of focus and choice.

We are already whole.  Whether or not we are aware of our wholeness is a matter of focus and choice.  Free will is a precious gift.  We can choose to create our lives consciously or unconsciously.  Even if we focus our intentions to manifest our lives consciously, our unconscious mind still creates just as actively and powerfully as the choices we make from a place of awareness.

It is a double-edged sword piercing the darkness of what lies ahead.

When we chose to create from love, we are drawing the light of super-consciousness into our creation. That is a very good thing if you are hoping to enjoy your experience in life over the long haul.  Super-consciousness is the alignment of the conscious and unconscious mind creating from a conscious choice to manifest unconditional love.

Unconditional love is the goal of creation.  All manifestations lead to unconditional love, but choosing love consciously determines the quality of life you will experience as you travel the road of manifesting your own creation.

You reap what you sew, so choose carefully.  All roads lead to love.  All roads seek to discover love.  A road that details the knowledge of what love isn’t can be very instructive in defining your understanding of what love is. Discovering what love isn’t is not the direct path to bliss.  The indirect path to bliss still points to bliss, even though the lesson of this particular path is, “not this way, by the way.”

You can choose to learn what love is directly by choosing love.  You can learn to experience and understand what love is indirectly by choosing what love isn’t.  They are flip sides of the same coin.

Most of us choose love after having enough of finding out what love isn’t.  Some of us require exhaustive research in the field of what love isn’t.  There is nothing wrong with that.  There is a lot that is right with that.

Love is not concerned with the road you take to discover it.  Love is always present.  Love is already within you.  The road you take doesn’t matter, because you are the destination.  The universe already exists within you.  You are not at the center of that universe. The center of that universe is within you.  It is simply a matter of choosing awareness of love.

Love always reveals itself.  Love will always find a way, and the way is through the heart.

The heart I speak of is not an organ.  The heart I speak of is a vortex of energy within you.  It is your heart chakra.

All return to love. In truth, no one ever left love.  It is a simple matter of understanding.  As a matter of evolution, our species has evolved the mind as an organ.  We have not evolved the mind as a spiritual vortex.  The chakra of the mind cannot receive true intelligence without the information received from an open heart.

The heart is the meeting place of the other charkas.  It is the hub where instinct meets inspiration.  Only love can direct these forces and align their polarities.

We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. We are physical beings capable of a spiritual experience.  We are metaphysical beings.

We are complicated and we are very simple when it comes down to it.  We are fearfully and wonderfully made.  If we choose love, the wonderful transforms the fearful into something divine.  It is a matter of choice. It is a matter of free will.

Choose love, and you will harvest love.  Love is the great harvest that is coming for all of us.  It is coming.  It has already arrived. In truth, it never left us, and we never left it.

Love is. You are. Be. Be in love.  I am in love. Love is in me. You are love. There is nothing more to be. There is nothing more to know.  Eternity is within you, and you are within eternity.  The heart knows this.  The mind as an organ cannot grasp this. The mind as a chakra can choose from this knowing in the heart.  That is what the mind is for.

The charioteer that drives the soul is in the heart.  Surrender the reigns to love. Let the war in the mind between conflicting polarities of perception cease.  Surrender to the stillness of the heart.

            Choose love.

You are love, and you are free.
