Chapter 6

Live and let live. Make love, not war. These truths have nearly lost their meaning. That is perfect, because they are meaningless. Actions speak louder than words.

Making love is an art. It requires passion. It calls for true intimacy. If we don’t know and love ourselves, we are incapable of intimacy. The first step to making love passionately is to know and love yourself.

Loving yourself is an art. It can take on many forms. Self-love requires action, stillness, and realization.

Self-love in action is having the courage to journey within the self to discover who is inside. The stillness of self-love is receiving the embrace of the self you find from within. The realization of self-love is a result of the union of the conscious and unconscious mind united in the heart.

Essentially, the truth will set you free. Self-love is a journey of radical healing. Disease and imbalance are a language that speaks to the heart. You are whole and you are free. Disease and imbalance carry the message to the heart that the mind is not in harmony with the reality of your wholeness.

Self-love is a journey of remembering and integrating the reality of your wholeness into the manifestation of your current expression of being. Disease and imbalance are easy to explain. You are one with universal truth. Universal truth is the reality of unconditional love. Unconditional love is infinite. It cannot be contained. Disease and imbalance are a result of trying to fit the universe inside a tiny box.

Infinite love cannot be contained. It must be expressed. If we live the expression of unconditional love in action, we are living through the infinite power of universal truth. If we repress or try to contain the light within us, we are cramming the universe into a tiny box. It is like trying to hold back raging waters with a damn of toothpicks and Popsicle sticks.

If your mind chooses to turn your body into a dam to block the raging waters of universal energy flowing through you, you are “damned”. Your essence, which is love, cannot be contained. Love must flow. Resistance will only result in destruction of the damn you build to hold back the raging waters of the soul.

If you choose to allow your body to function as a vessel to channel the infinite light of unconditional love, you will remain in balance and harmony with the force of life that is moving through you. If, however, you are choosing to allow your body to function as a damn to hold back the raging waters of infinite wisdom, your body is going to fall apart and die very quickly.

What we refer to as the “ego” was never designed to contain the universe. Ego is simply a matter of choosing to believe that you are finite instead of infinite. Ego is the damn you build to resist the raging waters of the soul. Resistance is the source of disease and imbalance, and ego is the wall of resistance you create to hold back the truth of who and what you really are.

To love yourself is simply to realize that you are the light of infinite love and truth. The ego would like to distort that message to mean that it is the source of infinite love and truth. The ego is rooted in fear. The ego is a manifestation of fear.

Ego is powerless over the truth that is within you. It can attempt to hold back the light for a while, but it will never win. You can’t hold the ocean in a thimble.

Ego serves a purpose. Ego is here to teach you what love is by showing you what love is not. Ego is a teacher, and the source of its lesson is an indirect path to love. We can all thank ego very much for showing us what love is by teaching us what love is not. We don’t need to battle the ego, smash the ego, kill the ego, or go to war with the ego. There is no point to battling shadows. Ego has served its purpose very well.

If ego is rooted in fear, and fear is here to teach us what love is not in order to expand our experience and understanding of what love is, then the source of ego is really love. Isn’t that wonderful! We can all thank ego very much and ask it to return to the source of love now.

Make love, not war. Surrender your resistance to love. Follow your bliss. Take the journey within. Expand into pure light. It is possible. You are not small.

Your essence cannot be contained. It must flow like water. Our bodies are so much like the Earth. Our veins are like rivers flowing to the ocean of the heart. The heart maintains the flow of blood circulating throughout the body. If the flow stops, we will die. The same is true of love as is flows through the heart chakra.

The essence of life is love. It flows through the heart chakra. Without this light we are spiritually dead even if we are showing vital signs in the material world.

Very few of us are truly living. Most of our energy is directed toward resistance to love. Let it flow. Surrender your resistance. Let the light pour through your heart and spill out into the world. You are the light of the world.
