Lindros, LeClair article

Two Flyers are awards finalists

(5/15) Two Flyers are among the the finalists for some of the league's year-end awards this season--something which hasn't happened in a couple of years. Bill Barber is a finalist for the Jack Adams Awards as the top coach, while Roman Cechmanek is a finalist for the Vezina Award as the top goaltender. Both Barber and Cechmanek have a good shot at actually winning their awards, but neither is exactly a shoo-in.

Renberg to Flyers?

(5/15) A recent issue of Sports Illustrated speculated that the Flyers are interested in reacquiring the rights to Mikael Renberg from Phoenix. Renberg was the second leading scorer in the Swedish Elite League this past season. He played in Sweden rather than the NHL for personal reasons.

Gagne undergoes surgery

(5/2) According to published reports, Simon Gagne underwent surgery this morning to repair damage done to his shoulder during his scrum with Andrei Zyuzin in February. The surgery, performed by Dr. Art Bartolozzi and Dr. Peter DeLuca, repaired a torn labrum and cartilige damage in Gagne's left shoulder. He will be beginning rehab shortly.
