Katrina opened her eyes... She was just so tired, how on earth was she supposed to wake up?
"Hola, Susana."
What? or Qué? Katrina blinks again. Oh yeah. She was in Spanish class and her Spanish name was Susana. Who on earth was talking to her? She was in zombie land... heaven help whoever was trying to get her attention. Uh oh, it was the teacher. How dare they make this class first period!
"Hola, professora."
"Susana, tu eres una mala estudiante. Tu no puedes dormir en mi clase."
"Si."
After the long torture session, or that class, was over she finally had some classes with familiar faces. In this class she had Max, Kyle, and Amarus for company. Today they had a substitute who thought that giving a pointless lecture would be fun. Katrina wasn't really listening and notice that Max was playing a game that was on his graphing calculator. Amarus sat nearer to him so Katrina whispered, "Amarus, what's Max playing?"
"Who's Max?"
"The guy who sits on the other side of you."
"Fine," there was a pause as Amarus asked him and then she replied, "He's playing tetris."
Kyle asked, "Hey doesn't our sub look like the quaker oats guy?"
The girls looked at the sub intently for a moment, and lo and behold he was right! Katrina was compelled by a fit of mischief, and a pinch of insanity, and asked the sub, "Do you like oatmeal?"
The sub looked puzzled and asked, "What does that have to do with what I'm talking about? This is math class."
Katrina hit by a ray of genius said, "Well you were talking about your life and today we were supposed to learn about the transitive property and syllogism. I was trying to connect it. You know, if you like oatmeal you are smart and if you are smart you understand math."
The sub just looked at her a moment. He then said, "Will the rest of you please not stray off the topic. Now back to buffalos."
Katrina said, "Hey Kyle, do you think he's suspicious?"
Kyle looked mildly at her and said, "No. Seeing as he is just rambling on it's not likely."
Finally, freed from the clutches of math class she went through the rest of the day.
Lunch! The best class of the day. Katrina sat down at the table relieved the day was nearly over. The other girls sat down too and they all began to eat their lunches. Sandi raised an eyebrow in askance of Katrina's lunch. It consisted of two pop tarts, a bag of cheese flavored crackers and a cookie. Sandi said, "Geez, how healthy! Is that all you have?"
Katrina played like she was hurt and said, "I like pop tarts. And ta da, I also have a tuna salad sandwich."
Chrissy's hand began to slink over to steal Katrina's lunch and they both grabbed the pop tarts and started having a tug of war over them. The others watched in amusement as the pair continued to struggle. Finally, the pop tarts almost already smashed, Chrissy gave one last really strong pull and Katrina let go. Chrissy went flying to the floor and all the girls jumped up to make sure she was okay. Oddly enough there was Chrissy just fine eating the now gooey mess of a pop tart off her hands.
Chrissy noticed everyone looking at her and said the first thing that came to mind, "Want some?"
My, my, the faces that were made when Chrissy stuck out one of her hands to show her good will. After a pause everyone said no.
Chrissy got back up and sat in her chair and said, "Suit yourselves."
Katrina said excitedly, "Guess what you guys! I'm almost done learning my first song on my keyboard. I'm so happy!"
Ana asked,"What song is it?"
Brianna guessed, "Is it 'Mary Had A Little Lamb'?"
Sandi guessed too, "Is it 'Chopsticks'?"
Ana had a suggestion of her own, "Or is it Fur Elise by Beethoven?"
Everyone stared blankly at Ana until they remembered what that was.
Katrina said, "No way all those are hard, especially the last one. I learned this one song that is very short, repetitive, and has a nice tune. It's says it's called Kang Ding Qing Ge or something."
Chrissy still in deep thought about what song Katrina had learned said, "Little Bunny Foo Foo!"
Everyone at the table except Katrina said, "What?!"
Katrina said, "Hey, I need to tell you how little bunny foo foo is just like the government! See, the good fairy is the voter, and the little field mice bopped on the head are the common people, and the bunny is the government!"
Anyone who had just heard Katrina had a blank face of confusion. Max comes to the rescue, as he sat down at the table.
Max leaned forward and said, "Hey you guys, I've got a tip. Larfiz is up to something. They say that he's got his "own world" somewhere. I think you'd better check it out.
"Don't you mean us? I mean, I've never heard of this guy. I might as well see him."
Everyone jumped, it was Amarus. She had overheard them.
It was Ana who made the brilliant deduction and said, "So you are Steel Kitty. We had thought so, but now we know for sure."
Amarus smiled, maybe because they really weren't all that dumb after all, or not. She said, "So when are you going?"
Katrina said, "How about right after school? Anyone have a problem with it?"
Amarus wondered at how that sounded more like a question then an order. One always had to obey their leader, there was no exception.
Everyone's schedule was clear. A thought popped into Katrina's head. She asked, "Should we have the guys along too just in case?"
Amarus asked, "Are you so afraid of this Larfiz or just dependant on those guys?"
Sandi said, "Well, I don't really care. I think if we make Kyle come that'll be enough back up."
Brianna and Chrissy both shouted, "We are not cowards!"
Ana said, "I agree with Sandi. Besides, Kyle hasn't seen any battle."
Katrina said, "Okay then. It's settled. Oh, and we aren't scared or weak. It just pays to be prepared."
After School...
Kyle said, "Uh, you guys sure I should come with you? I'm sure you'll be fine."
Chrissy and Katrina both said very forcefully at the same time, "You are coming!"
Kyle said as he backed up a few steps, "Since you put it that way, sure."
Amarus tapped her foot impatiently. She said, "Come on, I could have beat you and this Larfiz several times over in the time the other girls are taking."
Ana , Brianna, and Sandi burst out of the building and laughed. Sandi said, "We just pulled a little prank! That was so fun!"
Amarus asked, "What did you do?"
Brianna said, "You know that guy in science class who thinks he's so hot that we told you about? He's been picking on us a lot. So, we added some green dye to the pimple cream he uses on his face all the time. And his face has green spots now!"
They all chuckled about what a sight it must have been, that boy had been mean to everyone he met. Okay, time to go!
Max had told Ana where to go for the gateway. It was across town in an empty house. Of course they all transformed before entering. Everyone beside Kyle that is. He didn't have anything to transform into yet.
Sailor Sandrock asked, "How is he going to fight if he isn't transformed?"
Kyle pulled out a fork and a pair of scissors and said, "With these."
Sandrock said, "I repeat my question."
Sailor Yui said, "Hey, those are fine weapons, a little small, but just fine. I have attacks like that you know."
So it was settled, all the senshi walked through the gateway that was in the wall in the house. It was light golden and swirly colored. They found themselves in a world unlike any other that they had seen. It was entirely made out of pop tarts! There were pop tart trees over to the left, pop tart grass and dirt underfoot, and a pop tart village down the hill a ways. The clouds looked normal though, and it looked like it was going to rain soon.
Katrina said, "Hey, do you guys want to get cover under the trees or that village thing over there?"
It was a unanimous decision to go into the village.
As they walked to the village they noticed oddly shaped half pop tarts. They were shaped like people, but had been pulled in half and the filling taken out. As it began raining the bodies seemed to get mushier and sink into the pop tart ground.
Starfire said, "I'm hungry."
As soon as she said that there was a little gasp of fear from somewhere. They turned, there was a little pop tart child looking at them with fear. Katrina said, "It's okay. We won't hurt you. What happened here?"
The little pop tart child's voice was faint as she said, "How do I know you won't eat us? She said she was hungry! And he eats us whenever he's hungry."
Sandi asked, "Who eats you?"
The child said, "The monster. He's like you."
Kyle said, "We're not monsters. I tell you what. Tell us your name and then you don't have to worry any more. We'd never eat something we knew the name of."
The child calmed down a little and said, "I'm Sadi. Who are you?"
The group introduced themselves and they continued towards the village. They began to notice that the rain that had made Sadi mushy before was now bouncing off. Kyle asked her about it and she said the pop tart people could only get so wet. It wouldn't kill them, unless they transferred their water to an already soaked person. It could make them sick if they stayed wet though.
They got to a building and most of the pop tart people needed to transfer their wetness. They only tolerated the senshi until Sadi found that they could transfer the water and not hurt the senshi at all. Although the group ended up soaking wet, they were happier.
Suddenly a voice boomed, "I'm hungry! Come out!"
The senshi and Kyle motioned for the pop tart people to stay inside. The senshi walked out side. The voice belonged to Larfiz!
Larfiz looked distinctly annoyed and said, "What are you doing here? I came for a little food and you show up. Can't a guy get some decent time to himself? Norif, get over here!"
Norif appeared and said, "What do you want now?"
Larfiz said, "Go and dispose of these people so I can get something to eat."
Larfiz flys over to a rain soaked couple with baby and rips the parents in half and eats their gooey filling. Larfiz bends down to eat the little wailing baby too.
Starfire began to call on her attack when Icesis stopped her, and said, "Don't you could hurt the baby too. Use that on Norif instead."
Starfire and Steel Kitty attack Norif at the same time, while Sailor Yui pulled out first a feather, and then a rock. Kyle pulled out his scissors and ran at Larfiz but was knocked to the ground. After Yui pulled out the rock she threw it at Larfiz and hit him in the shoulder. He shouted in pain and said, "Fine, I don't need to eat the little snack too. Norif, make sure you destroy them." Then he was gone.
Norif had a good amount of trouble dodging both the attacks but he did it. He ended up on the ground next to the baby. He looked at it, it was darling but very sad with good reason. Norif remembered all the pain he had gone through and suddenly didn't want to hurt people anymore. He picked up the crying baby and said, "Wait. We don't have to fight. If you can find a way to rid me of the remaining evil powers I possess I'll stay here and protect these people."
Everyone looked at Katrina and she looked at Ana . Ana said, "It could work. Maybe we should ask the guardians."
All the guardians who had bee with them but silent talked to each other. Cronus was even talking with them too. Finally Shadow said, "Well, we think it might work."
Snowy said, "The only thing is we don't know what to have you say."
Reepy said, "I think it's 'Super Cleaning Spray'."
Shadow said, "What?! Yeah right. I think it's Cleansing Ray."
Bruce said, "Maybe you're both wrong and it's Dragon Mind Cleanse."
Both the girls gave him a killing glare for that comment. He moved closer to Sailor Yui.
Emily said, "Meow-yow." And tilted her head. All she got for her trouble was a moment of silence.
Cronus said to the guardians, "Maybe it is Dragon Healing Bloom."
Snowy considered and said, "That sounds familiar, maybe it's Dragon Healing Blaze."
Reepy and Shadow said at the same time, "And she needs her twin to help her with it."
Cronus asked, "Why does she need her brother to help?"
Shadow answered, "Because fire is his element, but without her it would be destructive rather then healing. They balance the power."
Starfire said, "That's my power! I don't want any copy cats here! I'm the only fire senshi here!"
Sandrock said, "He is a guy. So he can't replace you."
Starfire said, "Oh yeah."
Reepy whispered to Snowy, "Who is that guy?"
Snowy said, "I don't know. Are you Steel Kitty's guardian?"
Cronus said, "Well, I've been called that. So, I guess yes."
Dragonspaw asked, "Um, who are you guys talking to?"
Shadow said, "Steel Kitty's guardian. Can't you guys see him?"
Steel Kitty said, "No they can't. I'm the only one who can. Let's get this over with. The longer this takes the longer I have to wait to destroy you."
Dragonspaw said to Starfire, "She is sure a cheery person today isn't she?"
Norif said, "I'm ready now. Although I sure wish Naska could change too. Please try not to kill her if you can."
Dragonspaw and Kyle moved side by side and said together, "Dragon Healing Blaze!"
Flames enveloped Dragonspaw, Kyle, and Norif. When they faded Norif fell to his knees and was wearing a T-shirt and jeans instead of the shiny metal outfit from before.
Later...
Norif decided to stay behind and watch over the pop tart people. When they got back to the real world where they belonged Dragonspaw turned to thank Steel Kitty. She was gone! Steel Kitty had disappeared again.
Meanwhile
Larfiz sat in his basement and threw a tantrum. He threw everything to the floor and everything that was already on the floor he threw in the air. Naska appeared and asked, "What is wrong?"
Larfiz kicked a lamp once more before he answered, "Not only did Norif fail me, he is a traitor! He's good now. I can hardly stand it!"
Naska thought a moment. The sense of betrayal was strong but maybe Norif had a good reason for defecting. Naska's love for Larfiz immediately made her pause. How could she say that. Larfiz was perfect!
