The Introduction of Sailor Starfire Ep. 5
by Lady Starfire
Chrissy Jins groaned in bed. She was eating chicken for dinner
today. She hated, and I mean HATED chicken. But no matter how
much she hated it, she had to eat it because of Matt and Alan. Matt
and Alan were her two older brothers, and Matt (age 22) worked at
The Dementerville Chicken Factory; so he always got discounts. Alan
(age 20 in a few days, Chrissy still had to get him a birthday gift)
worked at the movie theater, and his discounts were much more
welcome. Chrissy looked at her clock which read 6:15 am. It would
be her first day of school in Dementerville. Chrissy, Matt, and Alan
used to live in a poor city where Chrissy attended a poor school, and
because her brothers wanted her to have a better education (Chrissy
was gifted and several grades ahead of her age group) they moved to
Dementerville. Her parents had no say in this because they died
when Chrissy was six. Matt hired a nanny and, if any one asked, said
she was their grandma.
Chrissy's alarm went off. She tried to turn it
off, but it never really worked well enough to do that. She knew what
was coming next. "Rise and shine!!!", her overly excited brothers
shouted, bursting into her room at the sound of the alarm. Chrissy
smiled, and didn't try to pull back the covers as they yanked them off
the bed completely.
"Hey, can't a girl get her beauty sleep around
here?!", Chrissy demanded, trying to hold in a laugh that burst out.
"Beauty sleep will have to wait till after school," Alan grinned at
Chrissy as he said so.
"Remember? School!", said the overly excited
Matt, lathering up the excitement to get her out of bed, and also
reminding her of why they moved in the first place. Chrissy laughed.
"I remember, I remember! How 'bout this: you guys leave and make
breakfast while I get dressed. I come in looking nice, and you serve
up the pancakes!!!"
They all laughed as Matt and Alan left Chrissy to
herself to change into a pair of crazy purple jeans with gold stars all
over them, and a gold Tee-shirt with a dark purple star on the front and
the words "Set your dreams up by the stars!" under the large purple
star. She always loved things that were purple, gold, and/or had stars
on them, though she didn't have the slightest clue why. After putting
on her tennis shoes without socks (most of her outfits were only
complete with a pair of sneakers she wore constantly, and constantly
sockless), she ran as fast as she could down the townhouse's stairs to
the kitchen where she ate more pancakes in one breakfast than Matt
could in three. Her brothers knew she had a big appetite, and to show
their jealousy of her (she never seemed to get fat), stared as they ate.
"C'mon, you know that I'm just hungry!" Chrissy accused as she
helped herself to two more pancakes.
"Yeah, but geeze, Chrissy! You're that hungry?" Alan asked, just starting on his second. Matt
was almost done with his second. Chrissy, however, was on her fifth.
"Well, after this I'll have some toast-"
"Define what you mean by some!" Matt muttered with a smirk.
"I heard that!" Chrissy shouted back as she helped herself to "some" toast--three pieces after five
pancakes!!!
"Well, I'm done! Wish me luck at school!", Chrissy called
as she ran towards the door, eating a fourth piece of toast.
"Not without a good luck hug, you aren't!!", Matt said as he and Alan (still
lathering up the excitement, they wanted Chrissy to like her new first
day at school) ran after her and hugged her hard enough to almost cut
off her circulation. Chrissy ate the rest of her toast.
"G'bye, Alan! G'bye, Matt!", but before Chrissy reached the door, Alan and Matt
grabbed one of her pigtails each, and, just before she left, yanked
simultaneously on her hair. "Hey!", Chrissy said, laughing. She ran
out the door, and headed for her new school.
"Think we over did it on the enthusiasm?", Matt asked.
 "Probably."
* * *
Chrissy must have checked her back for kick me signs at least a
billion times. No one even looked at her, and if they did, it wasn't a
look someone would want to get, making her suspicious of rumors
and kick me signs already. People gave her even more "oh, it's that
new girl...again" looks as she headed for the track field to try out--she
always did like running.
"Just my luck. Just my terrible luck," Chrissy
thought to herself as she headed back inside. The coach had tripped
and fell from the top of the bleachers. He had a broken leg and the try
outs were postponed.
Riiiiing!!! The lunch bell. Chrissy tried to ignore that feeling were she felt like every one was staring at her--of
course they weren't, but she felt like it. She passed a table with
Katrina, Ana, and Sandy sitting at it. The girls all stiffened a
moment as Chrissy passed, then talked to each other in whispers.
"Did you feel that?", Ana
 asked.
"Yeah, I just got major vibes from that girl. I haven't seen her around here before, she must be new," Sandy replied.
Katrina noticed her age. "I don't get it. Did you see how young she was?! She couldn't have been more than thirteen! I wonder why she's at a high school at her age..."
"I'm not worried about that. What I'm worried about is why we all got strong vibes from her," Ana
 said.
The other girls nodded, and, seeing Chrissy coming back from the lunch line, invited Chrissy to sit with them.
"An invitation to welcome!", Chrissy thought as she happily sat down with them.
After that it was the usual questions like, so, where do you come
from? Long way off! Why'd ya' move? What do you like to do after
school and in your spare time? Man, those are some CRAZY pants!
Chrissy forgot about being suspicious of kick me signs and the like
and answered all the questions they could come up with. Another bell
rang, and they all said goodbye and left for their next classes.
For Chrissy it was biology, and at the end of that class, every one was
completely grossed out. Chrissy decided to be a vegetarian after
THAT, and Matt and Alan HAD to agree.
~After school~
"Hello there! Well aren't you cute! Aww.....what an adorable little kitty!", Chrissy
scratched the chin of a small cat that had been following her. The cat
had a black back, head, ears, and tail, and everything else (excluding
a small patch of black on her nose) was white.
"Why are you following me, kitty? Aww....you're just so cute!", Chrissy picked up the cat and
turned the corner of the school, crashing into a guy.
"Ow! Oh, I am soooo sorry! I didn't mean to!"
"It's okay. I know you didn't," said a cute guy who was obviously older than Chrissy--but not THAT much
older.
"Hi. My name's Tim. What's yours?"
"Uhh.....Chrissy...", Chrissy prayed she wouldn't spaz out or do anything stupid.
"Nice meeting you. Guess I'l see ya' round!" and with that, Tim walked off.
A few days later, Chrissy held her ground about being a vegetarian.
Matt and Alan gave in to that, and having Emily (the newly named cat
that had followed her) live with them.
~Meanwhile~
"So what do you think about those vibes we got? We're still getting them. Could she
be.... with the bad guys?", Sandi asked.
Snowy (the cats and Reepicheep had met up with the girls) said, "It's possible. Who knows
what goes on over there-"
 Someone screamed.
 "Dragonspaw Power!"
"Icesis Power!"
"Sandrock Power!"
After transforming, they ran to the park where they had heard the scream.
"Stop right there, bad guy!"
The monster (who looked like a tree form the park) stopped draining energy out of it's victim and turned to the scouts.
"I am Sailor Dragonspaw, the champion of justice! I fight for love, and
justice too! In the name of Dragons-"
"In the name of Ice!"
"In the name of Sand and Rock!"
Then they all said simultaneously, "We'll punish you!"
The monster smiled and said, "Very nice, but it'll take
more than silly speeches to stop the great Larfiz!" and with that it threw
dozens of leaves that stuck to the Sailor Dragonspaw and Sandrock,
and drained them of their energy.
Sailor Icesis dodged and shouted, "Symphony Ice Tiger....DESTROY!!!"
One of the monster's "arms" (they were more like branches) froze and broke off. It cried out, then
threw a green ball at Sailor Icesis, which grew in mid air and by the
time it hit Sailor Icesis, it was a bush that trapped her.
"What was that?", Chrissy said, startled. She was taking a walk with Emily, and
had just passed the park. She ran there and saw THE WEIRDEST
sight she ever saw: a walking, talking, cackling tree that was draining
energy out of the sailor scouts! Not only that, but there were two cats
and a gerbil trying to free the scouts.
"This is so familiar....", she murmured. She hadn't had chicken in a while, so she wasn't
COMPLETELY dense like everyone else in Dementerville. She almost
remembered sailor scouts and monsters....Shadow saw her, and,
feeling vibes even stronger, ran at her.
"And who are you?!", the monster roared, it's remaining
branch shooting out at Chrissy.
All at once, Chrissy jumped out of the way, remembered everything, and a purple star with a golden flame in
the background appeared on her forehead. Shadow saw Emily, figured that it was her guardian cat, and did a backflip to make a purple and gold pen. Chrissy grabbed it, and knew exactly what to do.
"Starfire Power!"
And she transformed into Sailor Starfire!
"Yo, Leafbrain! Yeah, you! I am Sailor Starfire! I punish those who are
evil, so in the name of Stars and Fire, you're Stardust!"
Now the monster was REALLY confused. It didn't know where in the world this
new scout came from.
"Stardust Pow!"
Sailor Starfire crossed her hands behind her head, brought her right hand forward and her left
hand back, and as her right hand shot forward, dozens of gold fireballs shot out of her hand and into the monster. The leaves and branch/arm dropped off of the scouts, and Sailor Dragonspaw did what she did best: destroyed the monster from the Larfiz.
"Draskin Go!"
She pointed at the tree thing (who was still trying to put out it's flaming foot/root) and Draskin flew over, swooped low, and swallowed it in one BIG bite. Draskin burped and flew back to Sailor Dragonspaw's arm.
"WOW!!! ANOTHER sailor scout!!!" they all
shouted, talking and chatting with Sailor Starfire until Shadow's muttering interrupted them.
"Why won't she talk to me?! I'm Sailor Dragonspaw's Guardian cat!!! I talk!!! Why can't she talk to me? Grrrr!!!!" Shadow muttered furiously at Emily.
"Meow."
"Ummm.......I hate to break it to you, but, that's Emily. She doesn't talk. She's just an average, normal house cat."
"She's normal?!", asked Reepicheep in amazement. She didn't know that
there were any sailor scouts with out a guardian animal.
"Well, normal to an extent...she has this weird quirk of licking photographs..."
They headed over to the ice cream parlor where they treated themselves to
double-dips of there favorite flavor, and Chrissy got Matt a coupon
book there for his birthday.
