The Discovery of Sailor Blossom
Ep. 7, Season 2 By Lady Blossom; edited by Lady Dragonspaw
All the scouts were at Chrissy's house after school, watching Much Music, and eating Maria's delicious brownies. Suddenly, they heard a scream.
"Come on, let's go! Dragonspaw Pow--"
"AAAAARRRRGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! ALL THE BROWNIES ARE GONE!!!!!" Came the terrified yell...from Chrissy. "The world as we know it will come to an end!!!" Everyone ignored her and went back to watching the TV.
"Ok, never mind then." Ana and Mary were the only ones doing their homework. Maria, being younger and therefore in a lower grade, didn't have any.
"You know, maybe you guys should start on your homework too. You'll probably get in trouble if you don't," said Ana.
"Yeah, whatever, we'll do it tomorrow in homeroom as always," answered Bri.
"You might not get it done in time."
"Don't worry, it's our problem, not yours," Bri retorted. Mary and Ana went back to their homework for a while.
"Hey Mary! Guess who's on TV?" Katrina said.
"Who?"
"You have to come here to find out!" Mary came running to see who was on TV and instantly got sucked in. "Oh, my homework can wait until later tonight," she said as she sat there almost in a trance watching the television.

The next day during homeroom...
Katrina, Bri, Sandi, Chrissy, and Janine hurried to finish their homework. They each looked nervously at the clock. Only five minutes to finish. There was no way they could finish in time! Mary had finished the few problems left on her homework and was neatening her work. Meanwhile, Ana sat reading her latest novel, sitting and peacefully relaxing while enjoying her book. She had already finished her homework the night before while everyone else was watching TV. "Psst. Hey Ana!" whispered Katrina.
"What?"
"Can you help me with number 2?"
"Sure." Ana put down her book and helped Katrina, then went back to reading. A few minutes later... "What's the answer to number 6?" Ana again put down her book, helped Katrina and then commenced reading again. A couple moments later...
"Hey, what's the answer to number 13?"
"For cryin' out loud, figure it out yourself!"
"Ana and Katrina, you will be staying after school today in detention for talking during the announcements."
"Oh great..."
Meanwhile...
Carmen Rose Adella waited through science, hoping that the period would end soon. She felt to make sure her odangos and pigtails were still straight. They were a regular brown, she sighed. Next she had Spanish, her second favorite subject, then computer applications, then floral arts, both her favorite classes. Cam loved computers and flowers. She had moved from California before the school year started. She glanced at her watch. The bell should ring in 3...2...1... BRRRRRIIINNNNNGGG!!!!! Right on time.
The hallways of Dementerville High were always so crowded. Cam was always afraid that she might be late for her next class, but she never was.
At lunch, Cam sat with a few friends that she had made in her fencing class. She seemed to be getting to be really good friends with one of the girls, her name was Chrissy Jins. She had brown pigtails too. Chrissy seemed like an airhead, but she was actually really smart. In school at least. Another one of her friends was Ana Macbeth. She was really smart and nice, and she seemed to like computers too. Lunch was good, as always. (How can something be bad when it involves food?) However she couldn’t escape the feeling that they suspected her somehow. Did they sense her secret? Maybe they were the Dementerville senshi she was looking for…
After school...
"I know you might be wondering why I didn‘t invite Cam over her to watch TV with us since we aren‘t doing anything special, and we‘ve become friends with her and all. But the main reason she‘s been eating lunch with us is so we could check her out. I‘ve been getting weird vibes from her. “ All the scouts were at Katrina's house, just sitting around when Katrina started talking about this subject. "She could be an enemy; working for Zifral," Katrina continued. "Or, she could be another sailor scout. We have to be careful around her until we know more."
"I believe now that we are all alerted to the possible threat. We should subtlety ask her questions that may aid us in identifying who she really is," suggested Mary.
"Well, she seems really nice. Me and her are kinda friends but I guess I shouldn't get too cozy around her, cause she might be all nice one minute, then try to kill me the next," added Chrissy. "Or, she might offer me poisoned chocolate! Dun dun dun! Heh heh... Anywho, did she give off the same vibes as I did, or were they different?"
"They were pretty much the same. But doesn‘t Zifral have the power of a senshi? So how would we know the difference? Anyway, anyone else feel them?" said Katrina.
"I did," said Ana.
"Me too," said Sandi.
"I as well," said Mary.
"Ok, well tomorrow, we'll get to the bottom of all this." Just then, the phone rang. Katrina answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hello. Uh.. is this Sailor Dragonspaw?”
“What?! How do you know who I am?!”
“Oh good. It is you. I have a very urgent message for you. You and the rest of scouts must come to the high school immediately. There's not much time. This is scout business." Katrina gasped.
"Wait! Who are you?!?"
"I can't--" Katrina heard a scream in the background. "Hurry!" There was another scream. Now the voice sounded frightened. "You must come quickly, they're-- I have to go!" A click, then silence. Katrina put the phone back in its cradle.
"Who was that?" asked Janine.
"I don't know, but we have to go the high school immediately."
Yui shouted, “Then let’s get to it!”
Everyone then transformed.
A few minutes later at the high school...
When the scouts got to the high school, a terrible sight met their eyes. Zifral was directing her minions, Firon and Aksan, to attack people! On their left side they saw Namonaki! She was posing… and looking quite scary while doing it. With her hand on her hair, her face to the right, the other hand on her hip, and some how managing to cross her legs with one jutting forward. As she began to move towards the others she fell flat on her face. Leaping up and straightening she pranced over to the others as though nothing had happened. They had everyone in a tight little group and every few minutes Firon would drag one out and Aksan would slap them with the side of his machete. He was knocking them out and some people even got minor cuts. Aksan and Firon seemed to be waiting for something.
They heard a shout and saw someone running towards Zifral. Who could be that foolish? Squinting they saw a girl in scout fuku who looked a lot like Cam. Was it Cam? But the real question was why she was running towards Zifral. Were they meeting up or was she trying to attack?
Dragonspaw ran a few steps forward, betting that it was the second. She shouted, “Hey! Even if you are a scout you haven’t fought Zifral before! Watch out! She’s really strong!”
Yui added quietly, “As far as we can tell anyway.”
Sandrock added even more, “Yeah, one doesn’t get absolute control over a trio like that if they aren’t a lot stronger.”
Zifral shouted, “Aksan take care of that girl. You’ve been good so you can have that one to yourself. They rest of you. Thanks for finally coming. I see our bait worked!”
"Don't worry, it's not like this is my first time!" Cam shouted back at Dragonspaw. She turned back towards Zifral, and Aksan who was coming toward her. "Blossom vine whip!" Vines shot out of Cam's hands and whipped Aksan repeatedly, and very hard.
"Oww!!! Stop it stop it!!!" Yelled Aksan. "OUCH!!!" Tears began forming in the corners of Aksan's eyes. But his eyes also hardened with determination as he grabbed her vine whip yanked her towards him and chopped at the air as she came closer to him. He smiled cruelly, “I hate it when scouts hurt me. You’ll pay!!”
"Soon you won’t be able to do anything. Aksan is true to his word, about paying back pain at least. Firon and Namonaki attack the rest! You’re next,“ Zifral warned. Aksan grew tired of pulling in Cam like a hooked fish and in one movement sliced the vines and hit Cam hard enough to make her fall. Meanwhile Firon ran towards Cam, began hitting her, and shouted, “You hurt Aksan! I will not allow that!"
"Ow hey stop that hurts!"
"This is only the beginning of what you sailor scum deserve!"
"I'm tired of you, Firon." Cam made one of her vines shoot out and wrap around Firon‘s leg in an attempt to pull her down. It wasn’t working, Firon was too mad to notice.
"Hey! This one‘s mine!" Aksan shouted running towards the entangled pair.
Namonaki was prancing around to the nearly dead civilians and sucking their energy. She kept it in a small glass (ooh remember that it's glass, that part is important) vial. She would pause and look at her reflection in the glass and play with hair now and then. Suddenly there was a loud crack. Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked towards the source. Zifral was blazing mad and had apparently split a car in half. She now held a medium paper folding fan in her hand and said, with a voice full of malice, “Firon. I believe I told you to do something. Now are you going to do it or do you want to be next,” Zifral inclined her head towards the car. Everyone stared in shock. Namonaki pranced towards the groups as Firon stalked towards them. Aksan turned his attention back to Cam.
"Oh no not again. Hey, are you guys gonna help or not?" The scouts had been so shocked at the scene before them that, up until now, they hadn't really realized that they were just standing there watching. Maria rushed towards Aksan.
"Starlight Twinkle!" Stars appeared above Aksan's head and A REALLY REALLY bright light shone out of them. He was stunned and blinded.
"That's two down, two to go," Maria said after finishing with Aksan. "Although I doubt it'll stay that way for long, knowing them."
Cam got up and ran towards the rest of the group, at a loss for what else to do.
Chrissy ran towards Namonaki, ready to attack.
"Star Dust PO--"
Sandrock shouted, “Stop! Starfire, you can’t use that attack! Your attack can’t discriminate between friend and foe. If you hurt Namonaki you’ll hurt Amarus too!”
"What? Who is this ‘Amarus‘?" Namonaki shouted in confusion.
A voice called out, “I am!” It was Amarus. She looked as though it was difficult for her to stand. She was pale and appeared washed out even in the light blue shirt and jeans she was wearing. A handsome young man with light hair was supporting her. Namonaki looked directly at the young man and gasped, “Cronus! What are you doing here? Why are you with that girl?! I mean, why would you choose that hag when you can have me?!”
Amarus answered for Cronus, “I’m you. That’s what this is about. Something happened and we split into two. If you don’t believe me feel this!” Immediately after saying that she backhanded herself in the face. Namonaki winced from the pain. Namonaki then started jumping up and down screaming, “This isn’t fair! I can‘t be part of her! I‘m so much prettier!” Suddenly Namonaki wheeled and lashed out at the nearest scout. It was Hurricane. “Steel Furious Blade!” The triangular blade flew at her. Starfire leapt at Hurricane knocking them both to the ground a few feet away. They were both stunned from the fall.
Hurricane said to Starfire, “Geez. Be more careful!”
Starfire said, “I’m sorry. I guess I don’t know my own strength.”
They should have been paying attention to Namonaki because she was trying to direct the triangular blade back at the pair. Amarus was obviously struggling to get control of the blade. Amarus shouted, “I won’t let you hurt them! They’ve become my friends!”
"This doesn’t look good! Namonaki is too strong for Amarus! I have to help somehow!" Dragonspaw cried as she rushed over towards Hurricane and Starfire. Dragonspaw didn’t know what to do. By know Cam had managed to get herself together, Aksan, was still stunned and she was with the other scouts, who were panting. Everyone was getting worn down fighting Firon. She was too fast, but luckily for them she was getting tired too. Firon was getting slower. Then Cam saw that Firon still had a bit of vine on her leg and got a good idea. She said, “Guys, someone attack on three and I’ll help you!“
Everyone gave her doubtful looks. Who knew how dependable this new scout was. Curtain decided to give it a try. “Static Cling!”
Cam ‘yanked’ on the vine to keep Firon still and Firon got shocked and fell to the ground.
Aksan roared with anger. He was no longer stunned. What were they going to do? The scouts were almost out of power and their attacks weren’t doing enough.
Zifral revived Firon, who admittedly was not in tip top shape, but was sill better off than the scouts. Icesis stepped forward. She might as well try. She stepped forward towards Zifral, “Ice Ninja Smash!” She suddenly had a fan of ice in her hand which she waved at Zifral. Zifral was now covered in ice! Maybe they did have a chance! But then Zifral shook herself and the ice crumbled off. Icesis’ fan turned into ninja stars which she threw at Zifral, which Zifral caught. Zifral then threw them back at Icesis and they pinned her to a nearby wall. She was unhurt, only stunned, but pinned by her fuku and the stars to the wall.
Curtain ran over to check on Icesis.
"NO!!!" screamed Sandrock. "You can't do this! You’re just toying with us! Serenity Crystals Formation Spiral!" Five crystals formed, then became one bigger white crystal. The crystal spiraled towards Zifral. She simply stepped to one side of it.
"What a quaint attack."
"She dodged my attack?! But... but how?"
"Simple. You when I defeat a scout I absorb them. So I am much faster and stronger than any of you could ever be. Of course it lets them live on in a way. It‘s fitting. The royal senshi becoming part of a mongrel who was far better than they." Zifral then pulled out her fan and swung it at Sandrock. Sandrock didn’t know how to dodge the attack so she simply braced herself to be hit and hoped for the best. Yui ran over and pulled out… one of those cement blocks they put between the lanes of the free way. The pair ducked behind it. The attack smashed the block to bits and stunned them both. Yui had managed to save Sandrock’s life.
Now only a few could still fight. It may have been possible to beat Zifral, Aksan, Firon, and Namonaki with all nine scouts, but not with so few and everyone weakened. They needed a plan, quick.
"Well, I guess that what they say in movies isn't true. It's not always the good guys that come out on top," said Maria as she sat hopelessly watching the evil villains laughing.
"Don't say that!" Dragonspaw said. "There is always something we can do!"
"But it is true."
"No it's not! We can win! I know we can." Cam simply sat there in silence. They didn't hear Namonaki come up behind them.
"Oh you can, can you? Well, we'll just see who wins." The next thing they knew, Namonaki had picked up Maria and drained her energy putting in her little glass vial. Maria did not get up.
"NO!" Cam ran towards Maria, sobbing.
"Maria wake up! Wake up!" She screamed at Maria through sobs. The other scouts slowly regained consciousness too, but they were hurt too badly to move very quickly. They all stood in a group, holding each other up. Suddenly, Cam stood up and wiped away tears, then walked towards Namonaki.
"You may have hurt us, but we'll get better. We'll heal because we have each other to stand with. But you. You will never heal. You'll always be the same evil, disgusting, lonely child. You'll never grow. You can hurt us some more, and we'll still heal. Then we’ll come back. But you'll always be nothing more than an open wound that festers and never heals. We will not stop until you are defeated!"
"Oh wow that was such a great speech. Yeah right! Ok yeah I know I'm evil, but who cares? I am proud to be evil. Look at your friend who I used to be one with. She is weak. Shows you that good needs evil," said Namonaki. "And if you think that good always wins, just let me show you how powerful evil can be. Steel Furious Blade!" She hit Cam, who went flying. She lay on the ground stunned.
"C‘mon guys! We can do it!" Shouted Hurricane in a tired voice. Suddenly, the scouts heard footsteps behind them. They wheeled about to attack. Once they saw who it was, they were surprised. It was Amarus!
"Before you start telling me how I'm too weak to fight, I want to tell you something: I'm willing to fight to keep control of our planet. Even though it's not my home planet, it's my home now." She turned towards Namonaki.
"Don't!" Mary screamed. "If you hurt her, you'll hurt yourself too!"
“It‘s the other way around that I‘m counting on. I don‘t think I have the strength to throw a ninja star; but I certainly can do this." She stuck the star into her arm. They both shrieked in pain, nearly collapsing. They held themselves up by mere will. Zifral eyed Amarus in surprise. She hadn’t thought a scout would be that willing to sacrifice themselves for others. As Zifral stood still frozen by surprise. Cam started thinking, you could practically see a lightbulb appear above Cam's head. She eyed the vial that Namonaki was holding. Quick as her tired aching muscles could handle, Cam scooped up a rock and threw it at Namonaki. Namonaki lost her concentration and lost grip of the glass vial. It shattered on the ground and the energy flew back into the people it had been drained from. They all started to re-awaken and the few who were alert first started panicking. Zifral didn’t know what to do. The best idea was obviously for her to think about what had happened. Zifral picked up Namonaki and said coldly, “You may think you have won this battle but that is not so. I merely wish to think on something. You are doomed in the war!” Zifral made a portal so Aksan and Firon could go through first, then she went with Namonaki. Then the portal vanished as if it had never been.
All the girls helped each other home. Now that Maria was revived she was actually in better shape than the rest of them. Katrina stayed behind and gave out buckets of chicken to the people. Cam stayed behind as well to help use her plants to heal the slight wounds everyone had.
* * *
Cam pulled out the healing plants that she always carried around with her. She lay them down, then placed her hand on them. This was to make them more potent. Everyone watched in silence not sure what was happening. Cam then ground them up, mixing them with water. Amarus waited looking even paler if that was possible except for her arm. The cloth on it was stained red. Un-wrapping the bandage you could see that the wound had already healed a lot. It wasn’t nearly as serious as it had been. Mary said, “That must be the result of Namonaki being healed.“ Cam nodded and put the mixture on Amarus’ arm. She then tapped Amarus on the cheek. Amarus opened her eyes and asked, “What? What is this on my arm?”
Cam said, “It’s a mixture that will help keep infection away as well as speed up healing.” Maria said, “Thanks Cam for helping us! I’m glad that Amarus will get better. Wait. What’s your name as a senshi?”
Cam answered, “Blossom.”
* * *
A few days later…
Cam rung the door bell on Ana’s door. She wasn’t sure why she was here. Had the other scouts accepted her? Maybe… or maybe they’d tell her she was no use and had better leave… She just wasn’t sure.
The door opened and there was everyone. How could so many people cram into one hallway and still be seen?
Janine said, “Well. Look it’s Cam. Hmm.. She looks so young.”
Chrissy said, “Nah. How could one so old look young?”
Cam now noticed for the first time that everyone was holding something behind their back.
"What are you--" she started to ask.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" everyone shouted as they pulled out their gifts.
"Oh my gosh thank you!" She unwrapped her gifts. Katrina had given her a communicator since she didn't have one yet. Ana had given her a computer/book thing that she had made and had been saving for someone that likes computers a lot. Bri gave Cam a bouquet of flowers and some aloe plants that she pulled out of her bag. Chrissy gave her a blow torch in the shape of a flower ("I would've kept it but you like flowers so much that I thought you might like it. Besides, I have 3 more in my closet.") Chrissy gave Cam Maria's gift which was some homemade cookies and rosebud mints, since Maria was still sleeping on the couch. Sandi gave Cam a crystal rose that she used her powers to make. Janine gave her a chocolate flower and a chocolate computer. Mary gave her a bead bracelet with a little flower on each bead, and Amarus gave her a pair of hair chopsticks.
"I thought you might like these," she said. "They were on sale at the local drug store."
"Oh my gosh thank you so much everyone!" Cam said after opening all her presents. "This has been the best birthday ever! The End... for now.
