Serena breathes a sigh of relief and skips over to Rei's house. All of the other scouts are waiting there already for her to arrive. Serena finally has a real reason for being late, she was asked to come later than usual plus she had baked cookies for everyone. Serena walked in and looked around Rei's temple trying to find everyone. As she walked around an apparently empty area she wondered were everyone was and said, "Where is everyone? I hope I didn't make another mistake of forgetting something. Am I late?"
She found the other scouts all sitting in the backyard talking over tea and breathes another sigh of relief. Serena walks over and says "Hey guys. I made you some cookies. I thought that since I had some extra time I might work on my cooking. I made a special cookie for each of you."
All the other scouts were glancing warily at the basket that likely held the cookies as the memory of Serena's last batch of cookies came to mind. They were sugar cookies but Serena had been out of sugar and thought that since salt looked just like sugar it wouldn't be a problem to use instead of sugar. It took all of them over an hour to get rid of the taste. Serena began to get upset "Don't you want your cookies? I worked really had this time to get them right! ", she began to sob.
Rei said "It's not that we don't like the fact you made us cookies it is just that the last batch of cookies you made us sick. I'm sure this batch is much better."
Serena stopped crying and asked "Really?"
Rei said with conviction "I'm sure they're much better, so much better I'll have mine right now."
Serena smiled and reached into her basket full of cookies and pulled out Rei's and said as she held it out "I made it shaped like a flame, like your powers. I made everyone two, so they could admire one as they eat the other."
The cookie did actually look similar to a flame in shape. Rei reached out and took the cookie. She inspected it suspiciously and then took a careful bite. As she chewed slowly everyone watched her waiting with baited breath to see her reaction. Then she said, " That was a really good cookie. Very yummy. Was it an almond cookie?"
Serena was glad the cookie had tasted as it should and said so with excitement. The other scouts knew that Rei wouldn't lie so they dug right into the cookies. Serena basked in the glow of their praise. It wasn't often she did something right. Not that she didn't do a good job defeating Queen Beryl and her henchmen, it was that she always seemed to mess up the things that everyone could do.
