The Marching Band Game
by Lady Dragonspaw

Serena walked into the arcade and as usual there was Andrew sitting at the desk. Serena walked straight up and asked, "Hey there Andrew, is there any new games I can play?"
Andrew smiled and said, "Yep, there sure is. Only one game and for some reason it hasn't been too popular."
Serena grinned and siad, "I don't care how popular it is. I've lost- I mean beat so many of the other games that I'm not in the mood to play them right now. So what is this new game?"
Andrew lead her across the floors that gleamed, as usual, and pointed to the brand new game. He then said, "It's called The Marching Band Game. It has four characters to choose from and ten levels. I haven't had a chance to play it yet so I can't give you any tips."
Serena was already seated, the game had pulled her in. Andrew sighed he had long ago learned to recognize this look.
The music began to play.. Four little people appeared. They were each labeled. One was labeled Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, and the last was Color Guard. Serena selected Brass randomly.

Level 1

A brief description scrolled and Serena's character was sent off to find an instrument, learn how to use it, and avoid losing it's points in self esstem, self respect, and purity of mind out of 10.
She picked up the trumpet and was used it's mucis to blast away annoying and corrupting fellow members. The main draw back was the director yelled at her and his voice froze her character allowing possible dangers to come closer.
Jab, leap, blast, shout!, jab, leap, blast, grumble... this became her pattern. And miracle of miracles, she beat the level!
Level 2 went much the same only harder. Level 3 was a different story. It was called, band camp. There were many new trials. It had more corrupting people, evil cabins, missing items, and more conductor yelling.
The next few levels were much the same as the first two, but in increasing difficulty. Also you had to fight the Woosewinds, or the Woodwinds. Next new level was Level 8. It was called, Dodge the Color Guard. There was the note that for the color guard the goal was to hit the band members with their flags.
Serena again goes through this level. Possibly because it is allowd to have negative points and still play. Gleefully Serena continues to play on.
Finally she reaches the final level. Level 10, Bash the Director. After only 5 tires Sernea wins! She gets up and leaps around with pure joy. She actually made it into the hig scores. She got highest possible mind purity for a Brass, trumpet at 2pts.
