This blowgun was made by the Yagua tribe of Peru.  The Yagua use the guns to fire poison-tipped darts at prey high up in the trees.  Once hit by a poison dart, the animal quickly becomes paralyzed and falls to the forest floor - where it is retrieved by the hunter.
NOTE:  The Yagua do not tip their darts with the poison colelcted from frogs.  Rather, they use a plant-derived poison called curare.  However, the method of hunting is the same as those tribes that use the frogs.
