Every December a new SGA is elected to office by the students of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Students eligable to vote are all full time undergraduate students on the Madison Campus. Once the elections are over, the votes are tallied, and the new senate members are alerted of their victory. These students are the official inaugurated into office at the Student Government Association Induction Ceremony. This ceremony is open for all members of the University Community to attend, and this past ceremony was held in Hartman Lounge.

The Ceremony began with a short prologue given by Michael Smallis, Associate Dean of Students. Following this prologue, the Senate of the SGA takes the Oath of Office. The Oath of Office is given by the parting president, which was Tedd Konya at this years ceremony. The voting members of the Executive Board are then given the Oath of Office by the SGA Auditor. Following this, the Oath is then given to the Auditor and the Secretary just inaugerated Speaker of the House, which is currently Rich Sackerman. The final positon to be officially inaugerated into office is that of SGA President, which was done this year by Dr. Kenneth Greene, Associate Provost.

Once the official Oath of Office is taken by all SGA members, the President takes the podium to give the Keynote Address, also called the "State of the Universtiy". Once complete, the Students, Faculty, and SGA join together for refreshments.

The SGA would like to give a special thanks to Barbara Dawson, Tedd Konya, The SGA Election Committee, The Office of Student Life, and the Dean of Students Office; for thier help in making this years ceremony a success.
