IRPWA Sends Support for Mc Monagle
...following grandson's reported death.
The IRPWA (Irish Republican Prisoners Welfare Association) send support and condolences to Maghaberry POW Ciaran Mc Laughlin at this difficult time following the death of his grandson Kyle.
The protest which Ciaran was forced to make in the past 48 hours is testimony only to the vindictiveness of both Maghaberry jail and the NIO.
Maghaberry and the NIO insist that Ciaran and his comrades are to be treated no differently from any other prisoners yet due to his political background they refused to grant him the standard 72 hours parole, the right of every sentenced prisoner in the case of a family bereavement.
The NIO cannot have it both ways-CiaranMc Loughlin Only took what was rightfully his.
Far from being a reason to block future parole applications, this incident reinforces the case that the right of Republicans to compassionate parole be granted without conditions.
