"Bloody Sunday" Movie Updates
A message from the Co-Producer
("Bloody Sunday" Opens Nationwide This Month!)
Dear Friends:
Paul Greengrass' controversial and critically acclaimed film BLOODY SUNDAY depicts the events of January 30, 1972, when 27 civilians were shot by the British army during a peaceful civil rights march. The event fueled a 25-year cycle of violence between Britain and Ireland. The film, an Irish and British co-production, was named Best Picture at this year's Sundance Film Festival and Berlin International Film Festival.
Last weekend, BLOODY SUNDAY opened in New York City to immense critical acclaim and box office receipts, after playing two sold-out nights at the New York Film Festival.
I urge you to get out on opening weekend to support this searing portrait of the event that so profoundly effected Irish history and Anglo-Irish relations. The film is now playing in New York, it open this Friday in San Francisco, Philadelphia and Boston, and is coming to the rest of the U.S. and Canada in late October and early November.
For more details on the film, North American opening dates and theaters, and my book EYEWITNESS BLOODY SUNDAY, go to http://www.paramountclassics.com/bloodysunday.
Below are amazing review quotes, followed by letters from Producer Mark Redhead and actor James Nesbitt, which you may be interested in.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Signed,
Don Mullan
