Sat 14 Oct : South to Adelaide

Sun 15 Oct : Adelaide on foot, Botanic Gardens, Federation Exhibition, Glenelg

My excellent Adelaide hosts, Annette and Eoghan.

Mon 16 Oct : Wandering in Adelaide, Art Gallery

Tue 17 Oct : Jobsearching, Migration Museum

Wed 18 Oct : German town of Hahndorf, Movie 'The Dish'

Thu 19 Oct : Driving Adelaide Hills, Mount Lofty, Reservoir Romance, Albino Kangaroos

Some guys say it with flowers, but in Adelaide some people propose with giant graffiti on reservoir spillways.

Fri 20 Oct : Depart Adelaide, Barossa Valley vineyards, mighty River Murray

Purple scourge; horse paddock looks beautiful with blooms of Salvation Jane, but it is regarded as a crop-choking menace by farmers.

Sat 21 Oct : Mildura, Paddle Steamer Cruise, Big Lizzie, Mildura Show

Another day, another state.

Map of Victoria

Gargantuan old tractor in Mildura; surely someone misread the scale on the drawings?

Sun 22 Oct : I make Hay while the sun shines. Parkes

Map of New South Wales

I 'make Hay while the sun shines' (with apologies to Bill Bryson)

'A bird in the bush is worth two in the zoo' Mother emu leads her chicks in the Hay plains.

Mon 23 Oct : Parkes Radio Telescope, Mount Panorama Racing Circuit, Blue Mountains, back in Sydney

So big it barely fits in shot. The 60 metre radio telescope in Parkes, as featured in movie 'The Dish'

In its natural habitat; the Patmobile at Bathurst's Mount Panorama race track.
