Cornerbacks

A cornerback(commonly referred as corners) and safeties are known as defensive backs. Corners and safeties are numbered from 20 to 49. The corners plays opposite of the wide receivers. The corner will play man-to-man coverage, zone, or blitz, depending on the play. If playing man-to-man, the corner must stay covering one reciever. If playing zone, he covers only a certain area on the field and reads the play. If blitzing, the corners goal is to tackle the ball carrier behind the line of scrimmage.
