Projects

Retention Issues in Algorithm Animation (2001): A project involving the evaluation of the retention issues in teaching data structures using algorithms.·


Modeling of LANS using OPNET (2001) : The project entails the simulation of a LAN using the OPNET tool. Emphasis is laid on the analysis of the network performance depending on various criteria such as packet size, delay etc.


Requirement Analysis (2001) of a commercial website : The project involves extensive use of the UML technology and the Rational Development Suite. The software engineering paradigms are followed for the creation of the website.


AI Search Techniques (2001): A project involving research of the major search techniques, searches engines and web robots. The project was done by a group of four people and laid stress on the latest topics in AI including Genetic Algorithms. Google was also included as a case study.


www.Searchparking.com (2000-2001): Searchparking.com is an automated real time WAP application that provides parking solutions. The project uses the latest wireless technology and is presently being marketed commercially. Java, JavaScript, Beans, JSP, HTML, VB and WML are used for the implementation.


Media Dreams (2001): The project entails creation of an audio/video library that is capable of renting cassettes for members. The project was developed using the principles of software engineering and involved the use of Oracle 8i and VB 6.0


Online Alumni Association (2000): Part of the team that designed an online alumni system for the college using an advanced search algorithm. A part of the system was also implemented. Created using ASP, HTML, Javascript and MS Access.


Employee Management System (1999): Designed and implemented an employee management system for appraisals and organizational purposes using VB and Oracle.


Banking System (1998): Created and implemented a banking software with full emphasis on security features using C++.

Seminars and Workshops

WAP- Architecture, Protocols and Applications, WML, WMLScript: Conducted and organized the seminar to a staff and student community of the university. Taught extensive WML programming using the Nokia WAP toolkit for simulating a WAP phone.


Structured System Analysis and Design: Conducted a seminar to a student and staff community to explain the importance of Maintenance in software programming.

 


Database Management Systems: Conducted a seminar to a student and staff community on the importance of Normalization


Computer Graphics: Conducted a seminar to a student and staff community on the topics of event handling.

8237 DMA Controller: Conducted a seminar to a student and staff community. Explained the various modes of DMA operation including the architecture of 8237 Controller.

 


Placements, Group Discussions and Aptitude test: Was a part of the group that conducted seminars and workshops for placements and group discussions. Interviewed students and counselled a few students regarding career planning.


Software Engineering: Conducted a seminar to a student and staff community. Explained the Reverse Engineering Process alongwith the importance of code and data restructuring.
